    Tribute to a fallen friend

On Sunday April 18, 2010 friend and fellow Aprilia rider Robby Robinson died from injuries after crashing his Tuono. I met Robby back in 1992 at a bike shop where he was the local Snap-On tool guy. The owner of the shop was my racing partner at the time and the 3 of us spent many an evening at the shop working on bikes and lots of weekends racing at local tracks. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and not ask for it back. He will be greatly missed...

    Godspeed my friend.

Details of the memorial service can be found below:

I heard about this. Didn't see it on the news. Another website said

"I have not personally seen the police report. But was told that a car had missed its turn and had stopped in the center lane of 1431 to make a U-Turn. Evidently just this side of Jonestown and just over the crest of a hill. Robby came up over the hill and hit the parked car."

Just curious. I travel that road A LOT and I've always wondered about those hills. I'm normally doing the speed limit, tho there isn't much time to "stop" if you crack a crest with a car in the middle.

1431 is my group's normal ride to MF and PR4. We take that route almost every Saturday given weather.

Hate to see another one go. There was another accident out at three sisters this weekend too.

    Another fallen brother......

Sorry to hear about Robby. Didn't have the pleasure but we are all in this together.

Scott Prestridge with Texas Sport Riders was killed April 10, 2010 just outside Leaky when a young lady turned left in front of him. He was 39. He leaves behind a wife a two children.
    God speed both.

Sorry you lost a friend and we lost a fellow rider.

Was the driver charged with an illegal stop or u-turn???

Wow, bummer. I just lost a close friend under similar circumstances. I worked and rode with him. Every day I just can't get over the fact that he's not around anymore. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I just heard from a friend who saw the carnage (not the accident happen). By the time he made it the rider was already gone. From what he gathered during the pass through, the car was turning left into an RV park entrance. If I remember right, it's right over a hill. Definitely a dangerous spot.

Sad to hear. Put the lesson in your mind and let's all ride within our line of sight...best we can. Live to ride another year.

Not trying to disrespect the deceased. Live to ride, ride to live.

practice your panic stops, move your focus off the obstacle and look for your out...if there is one.

Live your life fully, each second you are alive. What lesson will you leave, when you are gone?

    My condolences....

Just curious, do/have any of ya ever mention anything to your fellow riders or is just 'known' it could happen to anyone of us?

Suppose itz not good 'karma' to mention it? Just wondering.

We give a safety brief every ride, and those who are religious stay something for the group in silence.

I think for the most part each of us know.

May all his roads be winding and the views from the top of every hill be breathtaking
