I've had my '07 Tuono for a year now and done around 4,000 miles - been busy with work and what have you. The bike had Dunlop Sportmax Race Replicas on when I got it and they're still in pretty good nick.

I wouldn't describe my riding as 'Rossi' but it's not tentative either and yesterday I had a couple of moments which has knocked my confidence. First incident was on a roundabout going from 6 'o' clock to 12 'o'clock but I took an exaggerated line through it becuse of a pothole on the centre line and so was leant over a fair way doing 40-ish. When I was cranked over, it felt like the front tyre had lost grip and was heading to the left. Whether it gripped of its own accord or because of something I did, I don't know but it caught hold, the bike came upright and I carried on. Th exact same thing happened 10 minutes later on a similar roundabout with a similar line.

I'd checked tyre pressures before I set out and all was well so I thought I might have got a puncture. I hopped off to have a look and there was nothing untoward. When I got home 20 minutes later I so, I had a closer look at the front tyre and both edges were really 'slippy' like the release agent from when they came out of the mould was still on there. Is that usual after 4,000 or so miles? I'd have credited myself with more lean in the turns to scrub them in nicely (rear tyres are completely scrubbed in to the edge) but maybe not.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. I don't want to lose faith in a bike that I love.
