Summer is coming to a close in many states and those early 09's ran poorly. I just finished working on an early 09 with 600 miles a guy here picked up for $1800.00

I did the following and now it's ready to go. The pump was intermittently failing which is probably why it was for sale so early.

Derestrict to 2.8.0
5.1gr LeoVince rollers
Red LeoVince clutch springs
LeoVince ZX pipe
Fuel pump mod
ZMR7AP plug

Were you able to effectively waterproof the dash, or were you just drying it out? I'm wondering how difficult it would be to remove and waterproof.

I know why, but what the heck man! That guy is a little off. Who posts pictures of their item with another picture or their gun when selling something on craigslist. I know that there have been some fraud and crimes that resulted from posts, but come on.

Anyone else think this guy is a bit excessive?

Well, I can tell you I don't know how many times I wish I had another 2006 or 2007 SR50 on hand. Great as a back-up and/or a source back-up/spare parts without having to wait for a part to come in...

If it's within your budget, and you have BIG plans for the one you have right now (i.e. lots of mods) this also allows you to do a "side by side" comparison to see the effects of upgrades. So I would grab it if you can!! But, based on the picture, perhaps wear a bullet proof vest... Just in case... LOL

Hey guys. I've been wanting to pick up an aprilia scooter for a while to join my capo and futura. I bought the scoot listed above in Orange County. Pretty sweet deal, I'm thrilled to own it. Needs some work, but I enjoy projects. Obviously I'll be going through the forum for mods, but anyone have any suggestions as far as must-do mods to increase the overall max speed? The scooter already has a Leo Vince pipe (zx i believe) and tops out at 45. I've read of others getting to 50. any suggestions are appreciated. thanks.

Congrats on your purchase! I stayed away from this one bcuz the guy posted it as an '05 but it's more like a '93. Plus he didn't mention the 8k+ mileage until I called. My friend checked it out and did say it needed work. Sounded fishy but I hope it's all good..

To increase your max speed I believe you will need to change the primary gears. And to get these gears up to speed you'll want to install a big bore kit as well.

cool. thanks for the info and the invite. Yeah, definitely needs some work. Mainly cosmetic, tore up seats, and a new lock set. the motor is solid. By the time I checked it out, he had his ad listing it as a 2003. In fact, it is a 2002 and was a month behind on reg. I was able to pick it up for 375! so no worries on the list of needed repairs. The guy seemed shady at first, but turned out to be pretty cool. He just needed cash for rent. I'll post some pics after I've made some repairs. thanks again.
