Laverda 3C Endurance Racer For Sale

This unique bike is for sale. Probably the only one in the world. It is a copy of an endurance racer that raced in the 1972 Bol'Dor 24 hour race. Since completion it has only done five laps of Mallory Park Circuit. It was ridden by the original Laverda works tester, at the Festival of a Thousand Bikes, back in July this year. Anyone interested phone me on :- 044 1981 252966. Ask for Alan, I will give you the full details and history of this machine.

Not that I'm a prospective buyer (just a daydreamer ), but I think we'd all like to see more pictures of this beauty!

    Laverda racer more pics.

Getting hold of the massive front brake was what started this creation.

After that it was just pure lust and enthusiasm that kept the project going, and of coarse a lot of dosh.

The open Mega was at first far to noisy, even racing bikes have to pass a noise test. Suttle baffles were fitted, which took the initial raspyness off the note, but didn't compromise the power output.

It got it's number 62 from the original bike that raced in 1972. The seat and tail piece was made by hand from sheet ally.

The bottom end had dynamically balanced crank, and lightened con rods, and a new close ratio gearbox.

The tank was made by hand from a flat sheet of allumunium, after first making a full size wooden buck from laminating plywood together to get the initial shape. The bottom of the tank had to be made in such a way that it fitted neatly onto the frame, missing anything that got in the way. It was then sprayed Laverda Orange as was the rest of the bike.

The Marchal headlights are a replica of the original bike.

Our friends offer of a perfectly good kidney, was a bit low. An arm and a leg thrown in might get close, but what we are really looking for is a HEART!!!!!.

    Hope you enjoy the pics.!!!!

I was working for Moto Italiano in 2000 after I bought a Zane 750S from them. They were still carrying brand new Laverda's and parts and it was easier for me to get parts for my Breganze bike from Wolfgang Haerter (British Colombia) than new parts for new bikes from a dealer.

As for kidney's.......... I have a used liver to trade for a bike.

Well it's been sold to a buyer in Belgium. He was well pleased at buying an exclusive piece of Laverda History.
