    our british boys in blue!

on my way home from work tonight
on the M5. between junctions 4a and 5 there was a comotion occuring. a traffic queue and cars erratically swerving from one lane to the next.

an accident perhaps? i thought, at which time our boys in blue came racing down the hard shoulder.........they will clear this situation and get the traffic moving i thought. .........as i approached the obstruction i could see some unfortuate BMW riders BMW top box lying in the middle lane accompanied be some clothing and a ratchet strap.........but where were the police? where was the BMW rider? the rider was no where to be seen but the plods? why they were secreted in the speed trap 400 meters further down the road.
tucked up in their plod mobile unaware of the comotion ensuing.

they could have stopped and removed the offending artical, i was prepared to stop to allow this, thought the biker may have stopped?. instead a guy on a honda blackbird nearly rode into this debris whilst filtering past

    bloody typical eh?

Perhaps they were North Wales Police on a job swap, and the top box was a booby trapped anti biker taiser device.

Chris(now avoids North Wales like the Plague)onord.

what were you doing so far south vil_guy?

were the plods hiding in there speed trap place when you came past?

i know what you are saying chrissonord, i vowed never to enter wales again and urged others to boycott the place on the strength of their police approach to bikers...........this lasted a few months........unfortunately for me its still the best place for a day out on the bike.

i was picking up a long range fuel tank for my cr500, id like it to be able to ride past at least one petrol station without having to fill up.

Yeah north wales is pretty grim for plod, we went to anglesey and on the way back some black cbr600 was following us, some dick on a gixer overtook us in a town and the black cbr lit up with blue flashing lights and chased after him.

We WERE speeding but sort of in the right place, and in a safe manner, the gixer was all over the place. I think so long as your sensible (ish) you can get away with alot

A good "sorry officer i was being a complete idiot wasnt i" can sometimes go down well if you get pulled

the fuzz were sitting there though jake having tea and biccys

being honest though, how do you report some object in the road?

Cant be 999 surely?. Ive reported people kicking the shit out of each other in the street on that and they dont give a crap about that, let alone someones smalls in the road.

i had hoped the policemenists would have seen tha top case was the cause of the traffic problem intead of bombing past on the hard shoulder.

the coppas certainly arnt interested in street brawls, they usually turn up and arrest the injured party, who is lying in the gutter, and allow the asailant to run away from the scene.

As a British Boy In Blue, I feel i have to write a reply.
I fear we sometimes let ourselves down and it appears that this maybe one of those times. Of course, there could be a simple explination but I guess we will never know.
As a traffic officer in Cambridgeshire, I would put a months wages on the fact that those officers would never knowingly have left that obstruction in the carraigeway.

Vil Guy- Yes this would be a 999 call and would be treated as an emergency call warranting emergency response i.e lights and sirens and speed.

We do give a shit, if you didnt you wouldnt be a copper. You will probably find that there is no one to attend when you make that call when you need us. It would surprise you, no doubt to learn that it is commonplace for a county the size of Cambridgeshire to have 4/5/6 traffic officers to cover from M11 Essex, to the Norfolk Border to Hertfordhire to the A1(M)Wittering.

It would surprise you futher, to learn that it is commonplace for a City the size of Cambridge to be policed on a friday night with 4 officers!

I love my job, but they are driving us into the ground!

The plus part is I get paid to ride a bike.

Please dont dislike us all, we are trying.

Id feel a bit of a tw** though ringing up 999 to report someones underwear on the M5. Even though it almost caused some major accidents!

Ill give you that yeah its an unforgiving life being a copper, you rarely get any thanks and only ever get people moaning (though it seems thats the way of life for everyone these days)

Society as a whole has some major issues.

Vote me for primeminister.. ill sort it out.
My policy of reclaiming the british empire will be a positive one im sure

Anyways what are you doing online, havent you got someone doing 33mph to arrest

Quick thread hi jack if i may please.
    Hey Blackrat!, your advise please.
Hypotheticially speaking, say im picking up a bike in london, its sorn and im driving it back to Holyhead to permanently export it to Ireland.
Question is would yourself or any of your fine comrades trouble a chap with a sorn bike (at a checkpoint or whatever) if it were just bought and i was heading to a ferry to bring it home?
Also would a photocopy/fax of my insurance details for this particular machine do?
    Thanks in advance.
PS i would be taking the A55 through wales to holyhead, cops out this way have a hardon for bikers in my experience, any advise in dealing with these demented bastards?

if you dont want to risk it, you could tax it for 6 months, then chop the tax in as soon as you get home, so that its only cost you 1 months worth - 6 quid.

    would save the risk

    Cool

I thought under the new regime on the motorways, the the Highway Patrol or whatever they are called are there to maintain traffic flow and get called out to non-emergencies such as y-fronts in the fast lane and plod only get involved if theres a crime involved...like stolen y-fronts?

PS I was in mid Wales on sunday...hardly saw any bikes let alone police presence, think I only saw a couple and they were in or near to towns.
