Beau its the 2nd primarily with a little of the 1st. Stoner's illness has gone undiagnosed but doctors recommend based on his physical state to rest up and continue to take time off as it may just be a total exhaustion of the body but still no one knows. As for the whole Lorenzo story it's highly unlikely. Stoner will most likely be back and its doubtful that on a whim Ducati would throw money at Lorenzo when never showing any other previous interest. But as they say where theres smoke theres fire so who knows. Once Lorenzo signs with Yamaha as he should then the cards will fall into place with the rest of em.

What Ducati REALLY needs to do is get Troy on the bike. I wonder what it'd take to get him out of retirement?

Nah, Ducati is looking through the wrong end of the telescope. They don't need a replacement rider for Stoner. They need a replacement Ducati.

Ya maybe you are right...I guess the carbon fiber chassis isn't the best after all.

So anybody think that Stoner will return right to the top of the qualifying charts upon his return, or will he be down with the 2nd group, including his teamate? I haven't really noticed anything in the press about what he is doing to keep in shape or what his mental and medical condition are.

Right back to the top if healthy and if not still the same Casey wont lose anything from this as the purpose was to gain. If Hayden is getting the Duc to the second row then Stoner can get it in contention. Whether or not he will have enough to beat Fantastic Fiats thats to be seen but I think he will be back in the mix.

Do you know which way Spencer actually went? I'm just curious.

    He went that way.......

1985 proved to be an historic year for Spencer. He began the season by winning the prestigious season opening Daytona 200, including the 250cc and Superbike classes, making him the only rider to win all three divisions in a single year. Spencer also competed in both the 250cc and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships, winning both titles in the same year, and becoming the only rider in history to accomplish the feat. His career was cut short by wrist injuries that some believe were caused by the physical strain of competing in two championships during a single season. After his historic 1985 season, Spencer never won another Grand Prix race. He retired from Grand Prix racing at the beginning of 1988, although there were a couple of abortive GP comeback attempts, in 1989 and 1993.

Anyone who's watched live practice and qualifying will know he'll be back at the top straight away. He's always the fastest one right out of the box. Set's a fast time and comes in and watches everyone else chase it.
