Awesome pictures. That Italian site is great, if that's where you got them from.

No purple for me... I'll take mine in "tutto nero" It looks great and even plastic sides don't look too bad compared to the Factory carbon bits. Can anyone make up anything on the brakes? The whole engine seems to sit 1 cm higher compared to Factory version, or is it the Chianti I 'm having...

    Ciao,
    Michel

At the manufacturer level Ohlins forks are within an estimated 3% of the price of Showa forks...

The only real reason Aprilia would go with Showa's has almost nothing to do with price, but volume.

If Aprilia is aiming to sell these bikes in large quantities (maybe in numbers similar to the 1098) then a vendor that can really crank out big production runs (Showa) would get the order

That is a good reason Steve!

Therefore the basic RSV1000R got 2006 the Ohlinsforks of the Factory-version --- it was cheaper for Aprilia to buy one bigger quantity from Ohlins instead of low quantitys from two manufacturers...

I promise, Aprilia can get back on the road of succes when the price of the Basic RSV4 will be arround the same price as the Yamaha R1, ABS-Fireblade or BMW S1000RR. In Europe arround 16000-17000 Euro.
And if the Tuono-V4 version will be released ASAP for a price of 13000-15000 Euro they can earn a lot of money.
BTW: The Tuono-V4 will get the showa forks and suspension too.

    Cheers

    Nice article today on <www.omnimoto.it>

It looks like ABS will be coming before traction control, something confirmed by the not yet active light on RSV4 screens. It's also mentioned on the US manual I just downloaded. Hmm, interesting!

    Ciao,

    Pics from Omnimoto...

    Google translation...

Aprilia RSV4 R: Do not Call it "base"
Due to the standard version of the V4 Noalese. Da 16.000 euro circa From 16,000 euros

When you arrive in dealer can almost say that it will not be secret, because of RSV4, between the road and the Factory SBK of Biaggi, we have already talked a lot and if it were not so out of the choir, we would have gone across. Instead, the new Aprilia RSV4 R version "economic" sister of 20,000 euros in sales, give new interesting ideas for discussion, based on the technical availability of the new model that will inevitably make it more poor dell'allestimento Factory, and price: Noale mouths are sewn to respect, even if the first rumors speak of about 16,000 euros.

With a Yamaha R1 in 2009 the price of which has gone through the roof (16,990 Euro!) And a 1198 Ducati unattainable as usual (17,990 Euro the price of the standard), Aprilia could do really important numbers with a list of this kind, also in view that the only real news of the 2010 Kawasaki ZX-10 R (which it's difficult to keep the price of 13,990 euro of the current version) and the BMW S 1000 RR.

So for the House of Noale next season could be very important segment of IPERSPORT: key will not go wrong for the umpteenth time on "time to market" and not too impoverish a product that has managed to build up a reputation among fans . The first steps seem, in any case, be the right ones: compared to standard certainly does not change the aesthetics, chassis and swingarm remain the same as the design of the discharge. Disappear, but in all likelihood, many elements will be available in a box of upgrade, the fork and Ohlins shock, the forged alloy wheels, carbon fiber details and croissants suction height variable. The CV of the four-cylinder V-65 should stay around 180 but with a different delivery, while the weight may go up 3 or 4 kg.

There are not even the engine melted into the earth, which still characterizes only the first 150 copies Factory, and will triple the mapping accelerator Ride by Wire, which provides the possibility to implement a traction control in the near future. This is a feature that the engineers Aprilia already successfully used in the SBK bike Biaggi and Nakano, but that does not arrive before the ABS system, which Aprilia wants to introduce a very short even on the super. The system will be substantially similar to that already seen on the Shiver and Mana, but with much more extreme characteristics: will not, therefore, a type of Brake by Wire as the C-ABS of the Honda CBR.

Please, God, give me a Tuono V4 without a yellow frame and a proper Italian Racing Red color. I don't give a shit about forged rims, ABS, Showa/Ohlins, whatever. I can fix all of those.

The ABS is probably gonna come first due to the regulations of the US government requiring sport-bikes to be equipped with ABS. So by trying to get the ABS out asap, Aprilia are hoping to sell a lot of bikes here in the US of A. Something I believe will not be a problem, given the fact that Aprilia has invested so much money in R&D for this bike. They can't afford, a la Ducati, to be making products plagued with technical gremlins. There's too much at stake for them.

I wouldn't be worried about the RSV4's being priced @ 16k (entry price) & 20k (Factory) IF they get their production together on their mid-sized line up & the tuono pricing possibly being current RSV pricing or lower? I feel with this V4 generation in the company this'll be the time to put ground work in and be recognized big time on this side of the lake

Although something sporty, as opposed to just a single color, would look great. Even the prototype paint scheme would be hot...the red, black, and white with the aprilia logo on the side fairings.
