First ride report says that the fueling needs to be retuned to match the futura intakes and taylor exhaust with h pipe. It coughs spits and sputters in town. But runs like a wild lion in the country. Ive only had it to 130 with the bags so far but yesterday was the first ride.

I still need to figure out how to connect the futura 2 wire speed sensor to the RSV 3 wire connector. Right now im using gps for that duty.

Now I've enterly rebuilt a 2nd futura with 3 wrecked ones, I've enought parts to graft a rear of futura on an "old" RSV which we could name RSV T.
I think it will be my next project for the coming years. First find a cheap 1999 RSV in good/right conditions & second solve pb with tach sensor.

Pretty tricky switching the swing arm to the opposite side

Y're very observant Bob, I met a pb with the side of the pic for both & to assemble them , I promise that I'll fit the swingarm on the right side

I'm just holding my breath that the H pipe gives my futura that "brutality" that I miss so much from my RSV.

That said, nothing on god's green earth has been so comfortable to ride, so even if the H pipe doesn't do the trick, as soon as the lotus and my race car are back on the road, I'll look into a 1200cc kit or supercharger.
I like rules. They're just challenges.

    2001 Futura -
(Motech's work) Lexus pearl white, Falco marzocci forks/320mm brake rotor swap, stainless brake line, 500a ford starter relay, throttlemeisters, quick release fuel line, geared down front sprocket, derestricted airbox, voltmeter, centerstand raised, power outlet.
(My work) Bypassed tipover sensor, bypassed sidestand kill switch (retained sidestand light), renault clio ignition coils, heated grips, gutted muffler, new seat, 05 map/tune, Evo slave, new centerstand, Pilot Road 3's - future wants: H pipe. I won't stop until it sounds like my old mille

Honeybadger, My biggest complaint with the futura is the fuel injection. The Denso stuff on the RSV is so much better feeling than the Sagem crap on the Futura. The H-pipe will add considerable snap to the bike if you dont mind wearing earplugs.

Did you have a customed made fuel mapping for your exhaust mods?
I cannot say the Sagem system is bad

....and thank goodness for that! TuneECU turned the SprintST from kinda "meh" into "oh, hell yes" in a few tries...
I don’t need to trek through Africa and I don’t need to climb Everest — I need to ride every f***ing curvy road between here and there. That’s far more powerful. Far more majestic. Far more of a journey.

I had AF1 load the 05 map and do some tweeks to the mapping on the futura which made the bike run a whole lot better, but still never held a candle to my RSV. So now I basically have an RSV with futura body. Much happier. But my desires are changing and I was to explore the adventure touring side of things, so it time to sell all my leftover parts from the two aprilias and four gixxers I have had and if I lucky I can get a BMW HP2enduro.

I have the tuneboy software on a laptop that I got with my bike, can it be sold separately from the ECU or should I sell it together?

I recall seeing AF1 state that they've never been able to see any difference between the early Mille frame and that of a Futura, so what would stand in the way of putting all the Fut's bodywork and of course the seat and the bags on an RSV?

You could swap out the swingarm and the exhaust, too ... or not.

Seems ideal, with the stronger motor, better electronics and dash, and the built-in cruise control for the longer stretches. Plus the better suspension and brakes, too!

    Sounds like fun to me!

There are some frame differences with the most obvious being the lack of main stand for the mille.
Also know that putting a mille triple clamp on the Futura will limit the steering as it hits the tank.

I guess most things are possible but would it be worth it.

There is a guy on the caponord section that has put a 03 colin edwards mille engine with throttle bodies in his capo.
    Ecu oem sagem .
Dynoed it and pushes 123bhp at the backwheel. Normal capo puts out on the same dyno 88bhp.
He used capo alternator & cover. Throttle body 57mm with. Capo injectors.

And he calls his bike: capofactory
