    Be careful
They don't put salt on the streets there ??? I don't like the results of the salt on the bike...
Why have you putted the black stuff on the windshield?
Yep, that's snow all right. We've got lots of it right now, but there was a lull between storms where the roads cleared off a little, so I was able to get out a bit.

They just use sand here, no salt, so it's not so bad.

And that black stuff on the windscreen is Saeng micro swirl edging. It helps deflect the wind a bit more, sort of like a smaller version of a Laminar lip. I had some laying around for a while so decided to see how it worked on the Mana screen.

It helps pushing the wind to the top of my helmet - before the wind pretty much hit me in the visor. As for sound, I don't think it helps that much - it's still pretty noisy!

Mana action pic at Deal's Gap Ga.

credit to "killboy.com" The photographers jump up out of the bushes like wackamoles trying to scare the sh*t out of everybody so they crash and then sell the pics to media outlets. If no crash occurs you can buy the pic for 5 bucks.Correction to the title...It's Deals Gap NC

Yes, they do! In all fairness I guess they sit down between pics but it was distracting the first time it happened to me and caused me to focus more intently on the road. so, not a bad thing. Credit also to "Zeefoto"

What kind of business model could survive from causing their customers to be hurt or killed?

We have never made a single buck from any crash photos. Riders get them for free, and the funds from the one magazine article that featured our crash shots were donated to charity for a fallen rider.

I sit there on my ass all day trying to expend as little energy as possible as it's quite draining being out in the elements 8-10 hours a day 4-5 days a week.

We also ride, and spend countless hours cleaning the road with brooms and oil dry that we keep in our vehicles, escorting semis and warning people when accidents do occur, and calling out people regularly for dangerous riding/driving on our website...often resulting in threats and a boycott of our business. All things that cut into our profits in order to ensure your safety.

While I appreciate your business, you really should get your facts straight before slandering a business that is only there to serve you and preserve your enjoyment.

For your information we have never made a cent off of crash photos. They are given to anyone who happens to go down in front of us, and the funds from the ONE magazine article that featured our crash stuff was donated to charity for a fallen rider.

I sit there on my ass trying to expend as little energy as possible because it's actually quite draining to be out there 6-8 hours a day 5 days a week in the elements holding up 5 pounds of camera the whole time. We are always at least 15 feet from the roadway by law, and I assure you it would be a poor business model to have our customers crashing and hurting/killing themselves. I took about 500,000 photos last year, and saw maybe 2 crashes.

We ride too, and we also spend countless hours keeping the road as clean and safe as possible for everyone with the brooms and oil-dry we keep in our cars. It's stuff most don't notice since it is usually done before you all get out there, but take a minute to notice how clear that road stays sometime...that's not completely by chance. We also spend a lot of time escorting semis, and working accident scenes to slow and direct traffic...all time that could be spent shooting.

And finally, we stick our necks out there on a nearly weekly basis calling out people for dangerous/reckless riding and driving, both on the website and in person when possible. It often upsets the offending person or group, guaranteeing a loss of revenue for us. It creates quite a bit of stress for us, with threats of bodily harm and legal action against us. This is our only income.

I appreciate your business Motopsycho, and realize your comments may have been somewhat in jest, but most will not see the humor.

If anyone has any comments or questions about the area, I welcome them and will gladly offer any advice I can.

It only spooked me once as I said and after that I expected it in addition to the other hazards on that road.
Perhaps a warning sign at each end of the road that people with cameras will suddenly appear out of the bushes on selected corners?
As far as misunderstanding your concern for the riders. With a name like "killboy" and featuring a crash photo on your homepage as well as finding a copy of the crash article on the website... Maybe you will forgive me for thinking " not right about it".
In any case, thanks for the pictures and I'm sure the publicity won't hurt a bit.
