Presumably removal of the snorkel this will make the engine run even leaner?
Hence........ Memjet.
Thanks Gabro.
Will give it a try as part of the Memjet experiments.

Mate there are a lot of people hanging on your memjet experimentation.
I can't stand the pressure.

Has anyone actually gotten the A/F ratio on a dyno? Everyone continues to say the bike is running lean, but how do you know. A closed loop Lamba FI system "should" compensate for most anything. I understand the the FI system from the factory is set lean to meet emission standards, but exhaust and intake changes would be compensated for by the FI to remain at the stock level. A new air filter and exhaust doesn't allow that much more air through the motor.
Any documentation would help me "believe".

As I understand it they are not allowed to make maps that break the euro regulations.
If they do it has lots of red "not to be used on the road" signs on the axone.
So it will run lean until you fiddle with the injection. Possibly even a bit leaner with pipes and air though possibly not 'cos of the Lambda FI system as you say.
But as I said, we know how our bikes behave and I've read and heard so many times of exactly these symptoms from running euro reg lean so that is why I spent my dollars on the Memjet.
Anyway, we'll soon see.

Thanks to the never ending rain we get, (and to petemoss of course) I did the valve check on my Shiver. 4,700 Km. All valves within specs.
Front cylinder: Exhaust: .208mm - .208mm
Intake: .110mm - .127mm
Rear cylinder: Exhaust: .160mm - .160mm
Intake: .127mm - .127mm
So most are right on the tight side of the spec. I assume they will loosen up as the engine wear, right?

Here is a pretty good link about it http://www.dansmc.com/valveclearence.htm
I just did my own valve check yesterday and one of my intakes was out of adjustment.

I just finished adjusting one of my intake valves. Overall it's not that hard to do, I think anyone with average mechanical ability could handle this task.
I'll post later with some pics on how I did it.
