    Fuel Light Permanently On

I now have my low fuel light permanently on regardless of the fuel level (08 model RXV550). Can any of the electrical type guys clue me in on what may be the problem and what the resistor in parrallel that goes to the RH switch pod in the electrical schematic drawing is for?
    Cheers

Hi O Trader havent seen you on here for awhile. Not sure if this will help but I was getting water into the LCD dash display and it was playing all sorts of havoc with readouts and warning lights. Pulled it apart and found half the seal on the cover was missing so let it dry out, resealed it with black sillicon and it hasnt failed on me since.

Un-hook the connector to the fuel pump. If the light stays on the problem is in the dashboard or there is a short to ground in the wiring to the dashboard. If the light goes out the problem is in the sending unit (inside the tank), or there is a short to ground in the fuel pump wiring.

Bummer..... It looks like its in the tank or wiring from the connector to the pump unit as the light goes out when its disconnected. No other problems with the dashboard, only the fuel light.

    Thanks guys.

I have seen on my bike that the wiring harness to the tank must be checked when lowering the tank or the harness will be pinched in the tank pivot pin area (throttle side).
