    UK Futura meets for June

Maybe the sun has got to me, but I thought it time we organised another get together or two for us British Futuristas (or should that be Futuristi).

    So....

I've found an excellent little campsite right next to some of the best roads in north Wales, and by co-incidence it happens to be on the back of a pub that serves good food and good beer, as well as being in a rather nice setting.

I've been to see them and they would be happy to put up with us on the weekend of the 27th/28th June, though I have to get back to them with a booking soonish. If it's a success we can do it all again later in the summer.

So here's a link to their site so you can look for yourselves. The pub is about 2 miles off the A525 Nant y Garth Pass, which has recently been re-surfaced

So here's the plan: Get there on the Friday night (the 26th) then (EDIT - the following morning)head off to the Ponderosa cafe on the A542 Horseshoe Pass where we could meet anyone coming for the day.

Then we can spend the day riding around brilliant roads and better scenery, with a lunch stop along the way.

Then return to the campsite and do it all again the next day.

The campsite is down a gravel path but it's manageable even on a loaded up Futura. If you park by your tent bring a sidestand puck or otherwise the place is quiet enough to safely leave the bikes in the pub car park. Camping is £5 per night.

So if you're up for it, or just a possible, reply to this thread.

    Midlands meet

I'm also planning a Midlands meet for Saturday June 13th at Quatford, on the A442 just outside Bridgnorth, starting at the Food Stop cafe. More details later.

Again, indicate your interest below... but hurry - it's the Saturday after next.

    Hi Pat.

Count me in for the Saturday night at the Three Pigeons and Sunday ride out - will meet up with you all at the Pondy on the Sat morning.

Quite fancy a run down through Bala and onto Barmouth (for an ice cream?) - some nice roads out that way!

    Cheers

Ok. Interesting. I will try to remember and see what I am doing that weekend. I am local so would not need any accomodation. I have never met another owner or yet seen another Fut on the road, and I have had mine since October 2006.

Is that addressed to me? If so, I did not know you existed until a couple of weeks ago. I thought that I was in a REALLY exclusive club of just me .....

Hi All, I am new to all this, I have just purchased a futura yesterday. (02/06). It,s a bit rough but it runs well. I would love to meet up for a ride and pick your brains on how to get my bike a little better. I am about 5 miles south of Derby. Rob.

    Welcome aboard Rob
If you can make one of the meets you'll have no shortage of advice re the bike. You may even wish you hadn't asked...

    Pat
Well done for organising (again). I'll make a decision on the morning, like I always do. Shame on me I know.

Just a thought though, given that AF1 have allowed us a sticky for UK Futura meets, why are we starting a separate, non-sticky for June? Wouldn't this all be better kept in the same (sticky) thread?

OK guys so it looks like we're on for that weekend so I'll let the pub know. Chances are we'll have some other Aprilia boys along also as I'll put this on the Club Aprilia messageboard in the next couple of days.

Torr1co/Pierre/Graham - the campsite looks a good little spot so I'll arrange another one of these before the summer is out. Dates to avoid for future meets would be good. As for the 13th, I'm not getting a lot of interest right now so I'm not sure if it'll go ahead yet. Me and a couple of the RSVR boys are planning a mid Wales burnup the previous day (Friday 12th) if you'd like to come along. Trying to get the day off for that one but should know tomorrow.

Why didn't I use the sticky? well it's on 18 pages now and there were a good chance people wouldn't notice it, so I started a new thread in the hope people would keep bumping it with new posts!

    Oh and welcome aboard, Rob.

I agree to start a new thread - i hardly ever look at the stickies unless looking for reference - i.e. a known fix etc, and i'm sure i'm not the only one

Dunno if i'll be there... had a lot of bills again... trying to cut down using my fut cause i end up eating tyres on it, but i might be tempted on the morning
    Live forever or die trying
