Another ride early in September during an exceptionally warm spell - this time with a group of about 18 bikes. Some cruisers, mostly road bikes, and 3 dual spots - a KLR-650 my Peg and a 650 V-strom.
Also trying out new camera - think the colour is more accurate than my mobile phone camera, but not sure why some pics are bigger than others, I dont rmember changing the pixel size.
1st pit stop - at Yeoval pub
onto leg 2
Lunch at Parkes pub
with unusual skylight

3rd stop for the day
coming into town for the last stop of the day.
view from the bridge. Unlike most of the other creeks out this way, this one actually has some water.
everything from a B-king to a 250
nearly home. Starting to cool off as the sun goes down.
Ran up 290 km for 14.6 litres of fuel. 4.9 lit/100 km or 57 mpg.
Sat mostly on 100 - 110 km/hr with the occaisional burst up to 140 kmph. The country was mostly fairly flat, except for the last 30 km home which had some steep uphills.

Is that you Vicki in the black!
Some of your pictures are a bit pixleated, caused by taking the pic on low megapixles on the camera and then trying to blow them up bigger. Try taking them on higher meg, say 6 mp, then reducing them down to an acceptable size, then you will get a really sharp detailed pic, in focus and not showing the litlle pixles. If you can get some software like Photoshop CS or similar, that will help you to manage your shots easier and better. Don't buy it, it's very expensive, beg it off some one that's already got it and can put it on disc for you. If your stuck I'll send you a copy on disc. Or alternatively download Googles Picasa 3 which is a very good free programme that is easy to use. Hope this is useful and I'm not trying to teach my Grandmother to suck eggs (No offense, just an old English saying)
i just re size all mine in Microsoft office picture manager its easy i think i take most of my pics at 1600x1200 its an casio exlim no idea what mp it is
anyway sorry fro disrupting the thread
back to ride reports
looks like you had fun day out and good mpg pity about all the cruisers and pocket rockets
only joking nice to c a report up its been a while

Some photos from our ride around North Wales in support of the MCN Reclaim North Wales event.
Set off from home (Gloucester) just after 7am, back home at 11:15pm - around 12.5 hours of riding, plus meal stops.
Most of the photos show the Ponderosa Cafe, on top of the Horshoe Pass near LLangollen.
Got a bit lost on the way home, and had to play "hunt the petrol station in North Wales on a Sunday afternoon" - always fun.
Really enjoyed the ride - 333 miles, which is high for us in one day.
Ah ha, the anonymity of the internet!! Sorry Al, Nah - not me. trying not to inflict that on the forum. In the interest of not cracking lenses, I try to stay behind the camera. The lady in the pic sometimes rides with her husband on the black V-strom.
As for the pixls, checked the camera and was set same resolution as P-uk's. I just been downloading from camera to thumb drive (they're not that big when I view 'em onthe screen) then attach on forum. same as I did with the earlier pics taken on my phone camera. New Camera is rated at 6mp. Found microsoft pic manager in vista on PC at home - but not on work PC (XP). Re-sizing seems to also reduce the pixel count (and presumably pic quality) too. I used to hang round some photography buffs (who were well out of my league) a while back, but havnt done any for a while so posting digital photo & bike stuff is a whole new area of interest.![]()
P-uk inspired me no end with video he shot riding round the streets in Portugal. The houses have strange roofs and was bit freaky riding on the wrong side of the road!! Am looking to try something similar by mounting my new (cheap in case it falls off and breaks) camera on the fairing, somewhere, somehow. ...
have another few pics from last weekeknd where caught up with Andrew2 at side car rally out along the Bridle track.![]()
Will post a few when I get a chance to re-size 'em !!
Nice pics Steve, how many bikes were there?
cheers
