Question Taller Gears With A 50cc Barrell?

Hi i got an aprilia sr 50 r carb 2007, its had alot of mods like stage 6 21mm carb, polini variator, doppler pipe, doppler air filter, doppler boost bottle, polini belt, polini reed block and it does around 60mph. Do you think it would be powerful enough to be able to pull taller gears?

    cheers

Might have a little better luck asking over in the carb section.

It should pull them but with a bottom end loss and if things are not later dialed in correctly a loss everywhere is possible.

you'll have to retune your tranny to accept the taller gears.

At that speed/RPM you would be on the back side of the power curve for the cylinder and ignition both. You can rise the exhaust port 1mm or change the cylinder which is easier. Even with a 70cc cylinder you will still only go a little faster because the ignition curve is flat lined by then. The next step is a good ignition box but the one I bought didn't work so I am stuck there right now. Need to advance the timing like 2 or 3 more degree at high rpm. If you did that then it will wind up until the crank broke so get a box with rpm limiter built in. When you are out of RPM then you will need to upgear it a bit.
