the summer of 2007 was hot. i had just bought the tuono factory and had ni idea where to go for holidays. Then my girlfriend told me about a roch festival in Budapest Hungary. So 2 people and a tuono started a trip from Athens Greece to... Italy (passing before 6 countries)...Total km in 23 days: 10.500km!
we started the trip from Athens Greece, after 700km we overnight near the greek-bulgarian borders. Next day a truck driver told us that Bulgary is a dangerus country where easily everyone can be a fool and most of all robbed. so he suggested to pass Bulgary in one day and go to overnight in Serbia somewhere.. We listened to him so after passing passport control (where public servants asked 20 (30$) tip just to give back to us the passports...we denied and the public servant throw the passports on the street instead of hold them in our hands) we headed to Sophia capital city of Bulgary. After refueling an a quick coffee, we started again for our next poin which was Bulgarian-Serbian borders. With an average speed of 160kmh we managed to cover 320km in almost 2,5 hours. Again passport control, happily entered in Serbia where greeks are treated like brothers. No worries there, people where very friendly, police always around the bike... also BEAUTIFUL women willing to make up a backpack, jump on the rear saddle an come with you whereever the destination is (unfortunatelly i was with my girlfriend).
600km and Serbia was a memory , night came TUONOs lights are fantastic as you all know (i have Osram NightBreaker lamps...EXCELLENTS) and this lights (and brembo breaks) saved our lives when an oldman passed the national road without any light or reflections with a bicycle (we were travelling with 180kmh when i hit the breaks)...
10 o clock at night and we were at the Serbian-Hungarian borders for one more passport control. From the borders to Budapest is 240km, so we deciaded to go a bit faster in order to avoid rain coming after us..with the speedmeter at 200km we were travelling in an absolut nirvana (excellent road, no lights though, no traffic at all...) with the headlights making night into day and thunders chasing us (we could smell the rain).
11.30 we were at Budapest. As soon as we jump of the bike heavy rain starts. but the target achieved, we were dry. 1256km in one day, From Salonika Greece to Budapest.
(total till now 1956km)
We stayed there for 3 days and then another crazy idea came in our head... To go Checz republic at Brno for the motogp race...
We packed back, map opened, destination Brno.
From Budapest we headed to Bratislava and directly to Brno in order to find hotel and parking.. We went to the motogp race we show Casey Stoner beeing very strong (disappointment since i am Valentino Rossi Fanatic) and next day we headed to Prague where we stayed two nights (go visit club Gothica, great music cheap drinks).
(total till now 2.600km)
After Prague we returned to Vienna Austria through Salzburg where we saw the iced mountains. we stayed at Vienna two days and there we had another crazu idea... to follow the next motogp race in Italy (San Marino)... so...we decide to rest for a while at Austrian Alps!
(end of part 1)
