This helps to keep the front of the engine and starter motor cleaner over winter why dont Aprilia make one yet ?

Hi diy sump guard , looked at my mates ktm 690smc one and thought this has to be the way forward for the winter roads over here for grit salt and stone protection looks a bit heath Robinson i know but it works ! ,does the job well but i wish Aprilia or an after market company would make a more professional product i would buy one straight away.

Hi guys, hopefully if this works here are the pictures of my bike as promised.
I have got close ups of all the aftermarket parts namely the GPR pipes (lovely!!), evo-tech rad guard, R&G frame sliders and cotton wheels, renthal sprocket (48T), Pirelli Diablo Rosso tyres (awesome!!), Aprilia aftermarket tail tidy and DPM Race Levers also an aftermarket Aprilia Item. I have also attached a picture of the forks dropped through the yokes by 5mm.

Made this under head stock guard to stop all the muck and crud from the front wheel getting up and in to the fly by wire box made it from perspex and mounted it to the two capt nuts as with the sump guard its for the winter only for protection, when the weather gets better they will come off . Would like one of the rad guards from evo teck next .

The first thing was to paint the cover of the exhausts.




and after that i paint it white.!

Here is my Dorsoduro part way through winter transformation from Black to a Red/White Show bike replica.

Full pics to follow but one panel had to be returned for a small rectification to the paint. Wheels also need to be done in Candy Gold instead of Gloss black.

Full pics to follow when completed.

I chose a carbon Fibre decal for the white side panels rather than the original Silver.

I LIKE IT .
My local dealer did one but again did not do the gold frame said it was to much work to totally strip it they did the gold wheels it looked cool you need to do yours i think autorama ask 6k for this rep and they sold it, post the pics when its finished .

All that is left for the bodywork is the Italian flag on fron mudguard. I have not decided to do the wheels yet, still deliberating. My bike is true to the show bike in that the front headlight cowl is matt to match the handguards and lower mudguard, not gloss.

Thanks Tony, envy you guys with your weather, mind you at least the winter here in UK allows us to undertake projects ready for the spring and summer.

The DD is now 3 days old and 200 miles older.

Well got the wheels back and installed today, have to say very dissapointed with the work of NB Coatings of Pontefract, quite alot of shadow areas and they even painted over the old pad for the lead weights that I had removed. I mistekenly thought that in blasting the wheel in prep they would have removed that. Poor can't recommend them.
