Get the K-Tech piston kit for the Showas and it'll be better than Gen 1/ Gen2 ÷hlins.

My riding lines are like Hendrix's solos. Unexpected and always different.

Hi all. This is my 2003 RSV Factory. It arrived from interstate with very low km, a blown fork seal (typical bloody Ohlins) and a bit of corroded alloy.

A whole day and a shitload of cleaning solvents, polish, new tyres (the fitted tyres were made in 2004 ) and she came up like this.

What a glorious bike. Not overly powerful compared to my MV but itís all so usable.

    I love it.

The Factory moniker was not used till the 2004 gen 2 RSVR series. Nice bike though. The best RSV version of the entire 98-09 RSV 1000 run in my opinion.

Ah right. Thanks. It’s really great to ride. The front end feels so good - like my MV but different. The MV tips in really well, the Aprilia not quite as fast, but the Aprilia leans so well I feels I can drag my helmet on the road!

You can tune and improve that by raising the rear ride height and lowering the front. Raise the rear to near the maximum and lower the front at least one ring from the standard setting.

It’s set up exactly as I like it. But as it is a different bike, different geometry, spring weight, oil viscosity, weight distribution, engine braking etc etc etc it feels different to the MV. I wasn’t slagging it off.

Nonetheless, you can tune it to steer quicker. But, as you say, since it's set up exactly as you like it, why try anything different.
