    My derbi project

Hi all, As most of you well know my bike blew up and I have been having major problems with it. I have since completely stipped the engine and starting to get somewhere with the bike so it will be perfect.

Below is a list of Jobs im going to do to the bike before it's finnaly done!

    1. rebuild engine with all the new parts!
    2. Polish frame and swingarm
    3. Polish the rentals bars I have and put on!
    4. Get new front tyre continential to match back
    5. Once all rebuilt get a dyno run!

Anyway here is the parts I have ordered today so should get the ball rolling apart from I go on holiday on thursday for 2 weeks!

    DOPPLER ENDURANCE CRANK 1 £99.99
DERBI GPR HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH 1 £34.99 £34.99 KIT (METRAKIT)

    HEBO PERFORMANCE REED BLOCK 1 £28.99 £28.99

Once I ordered I realised that the polini was only 95-05 but I gave them a phone and it was a mistake on the website! So all is good! I shall update here with my progress but won't really be a great deal till I am back from holiday!

ran into a little problem. Bike spares phoned me today saying the cylinder kit was the wrong one. He recons I need a newer version of it for an extra £40 can anybody shed any light on this because I can't face getting the wrong one. He has added that to my order just want it to be the correct one. In the picture of the cheaper 80cc polini looked like it was the right one. I am going to give them another call tomorrow to make sure. If anybody has any ideas would be great

SOMETIMES! when you add a bbk you lean the mixture off. Especially if you're using the standard filter.
As the cylinder is drawing in more air due to it's increased capacity it's pulling more fuel along with it, so the mixture is too rich.

This is what the guy at the garage told me when i took it to have it jetted (i darn't do it myself lol). I'm running an 85main jet now with the spec in my sig (minus the performance filter). Works fine. I've give it a good ragging lol and it's being no problem.
Havn't checked the plug though funnily enough lol.

Yeah sure be on in a min.

The standard air box is a pain in the arse to get in and out of the frame but the constant drone of the performance filter if you go down a roads etc does my bloody head in. That and when it snowed a while back i had real trouble running the bike (snow on filter, melted into water, obviosuly lol, and give me shit lol), so not even going to risk anything

Hi all, I thought Id give you all an update, I am getting there. Have put all the new parts in the engine and got the engine back in the frame, Got the carb on there and the standard airbox, may well switch back to the MK filter but more chance of getting into issues with the police with that on there. Just got to put the fluids in there and we are ready to run. I have decided to run pre-mix till it's run in then going to-do an oil change and get it running on the MK filter. Hopefully should get it fired up tomorrow and then sort the jetting out to perfection! At the moment I have got a 92 in there thats so I recon that will be about right will do a couple of plug chops and then work it out from there. Will take some photos of the bike tomorrow. I sprayed all the engine casing silver and a few coats of clear to protect it. Also sprayed my starter motor red which is a nice contrast. Since I got everything reconnected today felt the new clutch and it feels stiffer than the old one I can only guess this is due to it having the stronger springs?
