just wondering how many miles you fellows had on your apes, problems you've had with it, and what color sealant you got blessed with

2367mi, orange sealant, 4 oil changes, no problems besides when I let my friend borrow the bike and he fried the starter.

Mine's almost identical to your situation, but my starter mysteriously died after taking it to my dealer for warranty service. Other than that, basically no issues.

I have an 08 SXV for the track only.
I am very particular with it.
Both engine & box gets its oil changed after every meeting.
Using Motul 300V 15-50.
Only ever put in 1250ml , whether it shows on the sight tube or not.
Use Motul Trans expert for the box , 550 ml.

The battery goes on a smart charger when I get home & doesnt get unplugged until I am ready to race again.

Never had oil in my sight tube , ever....
Never had a problem with the starter as its always fully charged.

Dont burn oil when I race either , maybe the higher viscosity has something to do with it.

Have not lost any coolant out of the radiator .

Maybe I am just lucky so far , but it has not given me one problem...

It has the Ti Arrow exhaust , VDB air filter & opened up airbox.

And bounces off the limiter more than I would like , ( my lack of skill )

Same here. Orange sealant, 2000mi, second starter. That is all. Love this bike!!

Btw, this bike has had less problems than my "bullet proof" Honda CRF450x. That thing needed a new battery, new gearshift seals, new steering head bearings, blew coolant into the tranny once, and now needs clutch work. Has about half the miles I'm guessing too.

Oh yeah, and my bike is my daily commuter.

07.5' - 1 of 2 bikes brought into Switzerland with the '08 updates and '07 graphics. So, black sealant; starter assist on airbox, etc.

did 2200 miles commute + track, last year. Then another 25-35 hours track only, this year.

have replaced clutch plates once (the slipper really chews through them), a few other little refreshers..... but NO failures or other problems.

i have an 07 with the updated motor ( black seal ) and i have 4750km not one problem , same starter, change the oil and tranny every 1500km the engine burn the typical amound of oil so i keep it topped up ,and i use the sight tube to mesure the amount of oil in the engine . the system worked fine for me . and i use the bike only for street hooliginsum. best intown bike around

07 SXV 450, orange sealant, 2500 miles. No problems (knock on wood), not even the starter issue. No track days (yet) just road miles. Change the motor and trans oil every 600 - 800 miles. Burns a little oil on longer rides (100 + miles) and I have had to top off the radiator twice. Bought it in June of 07 at AF1.

have a sxv from june 06
rode 17000km, over 10000 mi with it
than got a water in oil isue from the sealins of the waterpomp
gave it a proper rebuild with new pistons
ant drove after that 2000km with it
before rebuild it yuset a litle oil
now it yuses 100 ml with every 100km
do my oil changes with every 1000km
and check the valves every 5000km

07 RXV 550, orange sealant, 1188 miles currently. just finished 6th oil change, no coolant lost yet. replaced rear tire, blew one fan fuse, no other issues. Grin factor +10.

07 450 Orange sealant.

Pitted cams after 600 miles. I always warmed her up and got the oil changes done.

Its in the dealer awaiting cams...if Aprilia Italy ever ok it or send the parts.

07 550 orange sealant. 14xx miles, 5th oil change, currently resides in dealers shop waiting news on rebuild or warranty type work. Last track day drank 16oz of coolant in about 40 miles. When I changed the oil after track day it looked like choclate milk with vanilla streaks through it. cant wait to get it back...going through withdrawal

I have 3850 miles but it is my second engine. The 07 was replaced at about 2000 miles. So this one (08) has about that and it runs so much better.

07' RXV 550 purchased 8/07. Engine reseal at 300 miles. Has 1500 trail/dual sport miles with a new starter at 1100. Runs great.
