[50cc Fun]

Sydney here! Bought mine from melbourne off a girl that kept stacking it. Got it cheap as its been through the wars.

It's an 05 factory R. Pleanty of scratches not from me, eheh.

I use it everyday to work! 5400 k's on it and I have done over 3/4 of that.

Had fun the other day taking it on the highway and did total distance of 130 k's too an old friends place and back. Went pretty good, slows down to 85 on the speedo up hills and gets upto 93 down hills eheh. Its got a malossi 68cc kit with a malossi 70cc replica exhaust!(Thats all I have done to it performance wise) had many probs in the beginning but learning is the way of life. I have tinted indicator's. I modded the plate holder and fitted a german fender elliminator but thats about it. Working hard to buy stuff of HGT soon.

doesnt idle 100% but I am constantly working on that. I kill plugs every 500k;s too Lol.

I love it to bits, I have a Ducati 600ss tuned for the weekend fun.

Welcome to the thread I started over 6 years ago! Must be one of the longest running threads on here.

Good to see you edited your Malossi size back to 68cc instead of 98cc! You had me wondering at first!

These bikes are very particular about what fuel and oil to run on, and rough idling can be a symptom of poor choice (it can als be caused by the Malossi kit!) Recommend you avoid Shell at all cost. My '02 loves Mobil regular unleaded (91 grade). Best oil is Agip, but some of us are having a good run with Castrol TTS.

I use NGK ZMR7AP plugs, available from Aprilia dealers. Definitely recommend indexing. Makes mine idle much smoother.

In 8 years I've done over 35,000kms and still love riding mine. If I don't ride it for a few days I miss it!

Have tried alot of places and even bought one of a spares place online in Melbourne and after one week of waiting for it they said to me last week its not available anymore even thought they had it listed on their online shop with a purchase now option.

I'm not the least bit surprised your bike's running rough on V-power. Hopefully changing the fuel will make a difference.

I remember when I first got my bike back in '02, it would never idle from cold for the first 5 or 10 minutes. Then an Aprilia mechanic asked me one day what type of petrol I used. I told him Shell and he said they recommend against using Shell for any of the Aprilia's! So, from that day I switched and would you believe the bike started idling beautifully from that point!

havent seen many ditechs in adelaide, usually see those sym/pgo scooters.

i did try hid kit in the original 2 bulb housing, ran it directly from battery bright as but cuts out after a while, most likely cos its not drawing enough power, also started forming bubbles on the projector part lol too much heat.
so got rid of it and went to the aftermarket ones, i'll probably change the bulb to a smd led type with cool white instead of the warm white.

still enjoying the ride to work, so far i've been able to get above 80-85km/h on flat roads, running stock components.

i'm looking to get leovince zx chrome or gp and probably the malossi big bore kit in future when it chooses to die out. cant wait for that also if needed evo bodykit :P~

oh also if anyone is interested speaker system i have one fits under the seat, runs off the battery, just plug mp3 player to it, uses fusion split speakers very loud and can be heard while riding.

I'm here. I get to ride mine for a couple of days then fix it then a couple more and so on... ATM I don't think she likes either the 98 octane with ethanol or the tps reset with the Koso dash that seams to have got rid of the injection warning lamp...

Do any of you Oz DItech riders own (or know someone who does) a Gameboy programmer kit for the DiTech.?
I'd like to put derestricted (2.8.0) code on my ECU and looking for someone local who can help do this for me.
