    2009 RXV, New design...??

    Hi

I don't know if this been covered, if it has, enlighten me, and I'll delete this post promptly.

I just went through the 2009 RXV450-550 service manual.

Page 28, there is picture of a smaller analog instrument panel - never seen this before, then again I have never seen a RXV in the flesh

Page 45, there is a picture showing a red painted frame.

Page 103, new number plate side cover + what is the shiny round thing by the rear cylinder, a filter of some sort?

And lastly, page 124, an new swingarm design?

    Does anyone have more info?

My guess is they have tidied up the look of the emission canisters, ally instead of black plastics.

hmm, I think it looks really interesting, since it looks like they are actually making the RXV "better" offroading..

I mean, all offroad bikes carry those kind of panels.. like the EXC and those and now the RXV has it too..

And no other championship winning bikes had such a large swingarm.. but now the RXV has the normal swingarm..

My guess is that they are trying to make the RXV more "inviting" to the usual offroarders market

I like it the "old" RXV was too large for etc indoor enduros..

With all those changes I also see, in the middle left side picture of dexta's post, that they have decided to shave some weight off by deleting the chain guard front mounting bolt......

if they really wanted to save weight, they should focus more on the frame..

    it so large!

    But still an epic bike..

hmm.. What about removing the V-twin engine from the RXV, and put it into the KTM EXC 525?

If I had the money, and the knowlegde, I would totally try
