Only the 03 model gets the radial brakes. But they all have Ohlins suspension and, I think, damper. (Note that earlier RSVs have a damper too (not Ohlins) but later - e.g. 02/03 models - do not).

also, anything after 01 has restrictor baffles in the intake. which are easily removed......theres a few other small things too, but i think if you can find an 03, the radial brakes make it worth it, on looks alone.

The -03 rsvr has a passenger seat and passenger foot pegs standard. The earlier rsvr has´nt. And don´t forget, black frame, looks good!

Might have been a Europe thing. Mine has no seat or pegs.

'01 revised frame geometry and new bodywork
'02 minor engine enhancements (ignition advance, larger valves)
'03 black frame, new tail section, radial brakes

And also remember that for 2004 and newer, the "R" is the less expensive base model, and the "Factory" is the high-end model with the goodies.

There is no passenger seat or pegs on an 03R. Subframe cannot support the weight either. Plus if you want to take a passanger with you get a standard.

I have 03R Colin Edwards with passenger seat and pegs. Europe models are different from rest of the world.
