hi, i recently bought a 1998 rs 50 off a mate and i am wanting to put a 2003 engine in it, but the only problem is the wiring. i was wondering if anybody had a wiring diagram to a 1998 model so i can connect the wires from the 2003 engine to the wiring loom on the 98 rs??
See if you can find an owners manual for the 98 somewhere, they have the wiring diagram in the back of them.
ive been using the haynes manual 1999 - 2005 or 06 for my 98 rs50 nd the wiring seems to be the same, but i thought they were the same engines, minarelli AM6 isnt it the 06 onwards ones that have diff engines?
Doesn't the 98 have an am5 engine.
Just cut out everything except the wire from flywheel magneto to ignition, and kill switch to anywhere grounded. Grounding kills the ignition. You can then remove your lights, battery, horn, starter motor and anything else electrical that's just taking up space. Weight savings will be huge! That is, unless it's for street use and you need all that garbage.
