Starter relay/solenoid, it is the most common thing to go wrong on the Shiv/DD bikes.

Hey everyone! New to this forum. Just bought a 2011 Shiver 750 from Empire Cycle & Powersports in Spokane. I'm loving all this technical advice, as this is my first Aprilia. Thanks.

You can't do anything harmful with the diagnostic funcions the dash posesses.

this is awesome thread... been reading before i finally signed in...
got me a 2013 with 2.5kkm - unplanned and unexepected.... sold my beemer and this bike came to me with a huge wow factor, just in time when i still can buy...
building my moments now therefore, and for 3 weekends i got 1kkms... bored i guess, and now looking for cheap cosmetic upgrades.... and one of the firsts are the levers...
can you share how the clutch and brake levers can be replaced then? it's hydraulic i know, and i have no experience in changing one... never did it with my former k12rs. 'appreciate your feedback!

    thanks!

Hello lads! I got the Metzeler M5 on my Shiver GT and i was wondering if i am using the right amount of pressure.
I am about 65kgs and i ride alone most of the time!
I am currently at 36psi on the front and at 40psi on the rear tyre. Is it too much?
If i try lowering it at about 33/36 will there be any probs?

    Thanks in advance!

I run Metzeler Racetechs at 33/36 and I'm not dead yet.

    hi, im newb.
i heard people saying, italia engine need to be overhauled once the odo reach 30K more-less.
if it was true, why is it and how much is the damage.
thinking of saving every cent to overhaul the engine....

Some have done more than 100,000 Klm's on the engine with no dramas. No need to worry about engine wear.

I been posting this couple times an I think this is the right forum. I have a 08 sl shiver an I was riding all day yesterday went to head home. Out of no where service urgent light came on an it went into safe mode with no throttle response. I rode threw the gears an it put me at a top speed of 30 with no throttle still. I been looking an I looked at air filter oil sensor, relays etc. I did read most likely it would be my map sensor. Does this sound right. No throttle control bike idle is at 2 grand starting out. When I have throttle control for a min or so then rpms jump between 2 an 3 grand.

    shiver 750,

Did you ever get a response or figure out what it was?
