    Dyno run

Other than the fact that my bike is making 109 hp, what else can you distinguish from this graph? I was curious what the bottom line represents? How does one read a dyno graph and what can it tell us? thanks

Never had a Dyno run done, so only going by what I've learnt here

The top line as you know is HP the bottom line is torque
Hp line looks ok, not much of a dip a 5G's so thats good
but that torque line looks strange, starts off quiet high and then drops to bugger all, not right in my view.

Hate to say it but do a search on Dyno runs, or better still have a look in whats in the AF1 shop thread
Lots of good dyno run graphs in there

The bottom red line represents a constant 13:1 air/fuel ratio. The light blue line represents your actual a/f ratio. Torque isn't shown on this graph.

Your curve looks pretty good--did you install a power commander or chip?

A good tuner could get you a nearly flat line at 13:1 air/fuel ratio if you add a PCIII. Doing it will increase your horsepower and torque and probably help your fuel mileage too.

Isn't that the job of the chip? How does the chip plus a PCIII work together?

A GOOD chip can tune the engine as a PC can. Only plus to the PC is that it is easier to make quick changes by loading new maps.

If you have one singel setup and a chip to match this setup you're fine.

You're Air to fuel looks well off to me. Way rich, lean, then rich. I would get a PC and mod the airbox. There's horses and torque to be found there.

    Jon -
Did you get any torque figures on that dyno run??
I'd be more interested in seeing those.

I always wanted to see how much power that bike was making....would have liked to see it with the Rene's on too!

Probability factor now 1:1, normality has been returned. Anything you can’t deal with now is your own problem

FWIW, my 02 with rene high mounts made 105 hp with the stock chip and stock airbox. The stupid chimps at Fay Myer didn't bother to do show torque (or tighten the tank bolts. or reset the service light, or torque the cylinder cover bolts down, or...)

Actually this was done when the Rene's were on it. They didn't tell me anything about torque, they did say it looked like it was running lean and a PCIII could help them tune it in to where it needs to be. It runs soo good now I hate to mess with it. As my grandfather always told me, "if it aint broke, don't mess with it". Thanks for all the info. Jon

Let's see....lean means more air, and hotter engine - right?
I seem to recall that when i had it - it smoked a bit, and SEEMED to run a bit Rich?!

I always marveled at how much differently that bike ran than Litre1's -- and he had the EVO chip I believe...but can't remember.
mine seemed to "chug" a bit more" -- but you're right....that bike whas ALWAYS been a runner!!

PCIII can be pricey, but it will NEVER hurt your performance -- if you are willing to spend the money.
Keep in mind, the FP1413 might not be AS well suited for the 2into1 with the mille header.
Did you re-sync the TB's?? Have you messed with the trimpots at all after your 2-1 conversion??
That might be a first step.

Here are my charts I bought a chip off ebay but when I had it on the dyno the fueling was all over the place. Put a PCIII on and it is much better. The fueling should be a flat line around about 13 I think. The blue is before the PCIII. The red after. It is making pretty good power and torque. The pipes I put on were just road legal FUEL pipes and they weren't expensive, plus a K&N filter
