    "Track" Editions

A couple Italian sites are reporting a new "Track" series of bikes from Aprilia, to be debuted next week at the Bologna Motor Show. The machines will come with track plastic and exhausts without street equipment, there's no head or tail lights for instance. They will introduce three versions: an RS125, RS250, and RSV1000.

    So I hear

I heard that too...at the beginning they concider just the RS250 due to the emissions law in Europe, but it seems that other models will follow.

I think it's a great idea...besides Honda did the same thing in Japan with the CBR600RR...

    thanks ricky,

i havent been this excited, this early, on a saturday since i was a young fella

i wonder what the price will be like considering i could ebay a complete set of '04 fairings, 8 kgs (17lbs) is quite a bit lighter but i am guessing that is mostly from the pipe and the headlight.

    hmmmm, very interesting.

i wonder if it is going to be like the ducati 998RS where you had to have a race licence to buy one........i think i bought 3 of those for other people

The RSV 1000 R Factory ‘Pista’ is equipped with 102 dB Aprilia Racing Titanium exhausts capable of giving the already high performance RSV yet another 10 HP in the mid-range and an extra 4 HP at maximum engine speed. An 8 kg weight reduction is the first of a series of benefits introduced on this bike to make track riding even more rewarding.

    THE Show

Bologna's in Ducati's backyard, Aprilia seem to always have a few things to steal some limelight there- wonder what else they've got up their sleeves?

According to Aprilia a kit will be available to make the thing streetable. Who knows what that'll cost! Prob'ly cheaper to score some used parts eh?

    Blinkers

After seeing this thing I figure someone oughta be making black-look turn signal lenses for the street models.

    Exactly.

How about the proper number plate on the rear seat cowl too?

Why not just make the 'glass available to the US?
