    RS for travel

I am contemplating purchasing another RS, I would love your thoughts on the RS250 as an everyday/every 2nd day bike for transport.
I currently have one for the track that really isnt getting the wooping she needs nearly enough at the moment.
What are they like to ride everyday? I love the feel and stance but what about constant low revs if i'm in traffic?

In Brizzie ? Don't. Waste of bike and yourself. If you want to get yourself killed however... go ahead (on any bike that is)

I've never had so many near misses in this one single year here then I had in 20 years of driving in Holland... and I did at least twice as much kilometers a year there. People are just plain crazy here.

Get a Tuono or Futura. You'll be much happier. I've got a Fut and love it. I used to have a Mille, but it was too hard edged for everyday riding and commuting. Also, the hard bags come in rather handy for trips.

mines been an everyday rider for the last 7 months and havent had a single problem at all with it(from the gold coast) i just hate the fact im putting so many kms on it. i've put on 12000 in the last 6-7 months(up to 45-46000). its still running great tho.. but i make sure i service n maintain it properly

    I got 2 as well.
I did 15.000Km streetriding on mine sofar and will do in 2008 as well.
When you put your helmet on and go for a ride deffinetelly warm up your body and keep it on mind that you will be halway from street to track on your RS but you have to stay on the safe side and keep your licence as well.
Since I`m getting older and older I fill the RS is not the "most confortable" bike for street usage so one day I will probably ride it only as a track bike..

I ride mine to work once or twice a week. Why would you want to ride anything else. I love every chance I get.

As a matter of fact, i've got it now

Cool guys thanks. I used to commute alot on my 748sp (in Sydney) and loved it, sure its a bit dangerous sometimes but it kept me on my toes
But will the RS need more or less attention than my 748sp did, I had her looked at every 5k.....

If you are in traffic it will need alot more. The PV cbores and cover will fill up with unspent residue as you are not operating in the powerband all the time. I would be checking them at least every 1000kms. I use to own a 2002 748S as well and the RS takes more maintenance. The problems i had with the 748 were nearly always electrical.

Soooooo what your saying is all I have to do is keep it in band as much as possible
I am still fairly new to two strokes, so is it easy enough to check the power valves? I have an owners manual but it doesn't tell me how to get at them, nor does it tell me how to adjust the rear ride height.
I haven't had a massive crack at anything big as of yet as I would like to know wtf I am doing first......
