    2000 RS250 Silencers

Anyone know of any carbon cans which will just bolt onto my standard expansion chambers inplace of my standard cans?

I heard that Tygas would but on calling the importer he recommended against it as I would need to fit an adapter.

    Thank you.

The Carbon Gianelli silencer of the Cagiva Mito 125 fits great!
You will need no adapter or other modifications. The silencer fits plug & play.

Do a search for a guy called "TZ mike". He makes a range of very affordable carbon silencers for GP bikes, but they bolt straight on.

    Highly recommended

A big plus one for Mike he is around, also on the Ducati site I visit.

I got a set of red carbon shortys for my bike, fits the Tygas I have.

150mm quite loud... more then you would want for the street but perfect for the track.

Thanks for the assist guys, you're a credit to the biking community.

I'll give TZ mike an email. After checking his site I noticed the dimensions of the pipes arn't exactly like the standard pipes, which means I'll be losing the silencer hanger. Does losing the hanger cause any problems (the RS250s for use on the road? If so will it be difficult to find/get one made which will fit? Thanks again and I'll let you know how i get on.

    Just make one.

Bit of strip metal or i use this mad roofing stuff you can get it in places like B&Q or a building site. Bend it round the cans line up any 2 holes stick a drill through the holes to make the holes a bit wider (wide enough for the bolt that connects to the bottom of the pillion pegs or current hanger) and your sorted.

Took your advice fellas, got in touch with Mike and these beauties (tho my dad doesn't like the colour) took about a week to arrive in the UK, God bless America!

I've fitted them and made a crude support for them.

Just one question; Is it safe to just stick different silencers on a stock bike with stock expansion chambers? They sound a hell of a lot different, and are alot smaller than the originals. Any advice before I take it out properly welcomed, I really don't want to kill my RS!

    Cheers.

They'll work fine. Generally less restrictive silencers don't have too much an effect on anything really, but if your really clean, do a plug chop and check your jetting.

They won't effect peak power much if at all but should give better throttle response. Certainly a better sound! All part of the fun.
