Tyre Pressures

I've just had my Fut serviced and the bloke there (Specialist Italian bike dealership) said I'm running my pressures too high at 36f 42r. He said I should try 33r 38r. Is he right or what?? (I'm on 020s)

I typically run 36 front and 38 rear for commuting and drop the rear to 36 for solo spitited riding. It gets bumped to 40 for 2 up.

I ride a standard 36 f and 42 rear... I find I can tell if the pressure drops by 2 psi, the handeling goes "off"..... I suppose some people might not notice it ... try it and find out, the pressures he's suggested are not that wide out to cause to many problems....

I normally ride 36F 39R on 020's but the guy who just put my new 021 on said he put 42 in the rear as that's what it's meant to have. I'll see what the handling is like before making any changes. The tyre pressures are also printed on your chain guard, but again I suppose it differs for different tyres etc.

I run 40 psi frt and rear, mainly so my fronts don't cup. It still feels planted. I am on Pirellis (sp?).....

35 front, 38 rear just me.

35.5 front, 39 rear with me and just tailpack.

36 front, 40 rear with fully loaded hardbags and tailpack.

always check my tires before every ride.

36 front , rear 40; all the time. So far the most comfortable bump absorption, handling & very good mileage from the tires. I have Pilot Sport at the rear & even after 6K miles it is slightly flat in the middle & the groves are still fresh.

Sheesh, I changed mine at 2700 and I'd have got a ticket if the law had seen it !!!

I prefer soft, but we live in a cold climate.

LOL !!!

ME!! with the front wheel off the ground ? !!!

With about two exceptions, the only time I get the front wheel off the ground is when the bike is sliding down the road on its fairings

Track Day 34f/34r

NOTE: Different tires have different minimum PSI ratings. For example, Dunlop 208's and Qualifiers are a min of 34. There's at least one model of Michelin that is deisgned for a min of 28. So the tire matters in this discussion.
