    Night Riding

Anybody done much night riding on their T's? I did some around London and Watford when it was warmer and it was a hoot, sticking it up the inside of the boy racers and other such hooliganistic behaviour at midnight (quiet roads a bloody blessing but it was around town so no dark raods).

But the past couple of days I did a few night rides one to Ispwish from Watford up the A12 and a couple of other nights just toddling about Suffolk area. I find the dipped beam is pretty good but the full beam is pretty damn useless, anybody got the same problem? Think I may need to do some adjustments and even get those ultra bright bulbs for the full beam, cos at the moment I feel its searching for the Luftwaffe on those dark roads.

Also what the hell are they putting on the roads in the Suffolk area? I got 2 massive slides on the rear. My tire was coated in weird shit when I went to the bike in the morning.

I found the same thing, high beam seemed to be searching for Spitfires! It was adjusted at the first service last week, but not been out in the dark yet to see how effective it is.

I find the biggest problem is the brightness of the blue high beam light on the dash. It's blinding.

I'm sure I read a story last year about some councils using this product:

"The alternative product is made from road salt mixed with magnesium chloride and food-grade molasses. The molasses coats the materials, helping the mixture to remain on the pavement, and prevents the product from scattering or bouncing off the roadway when applied."

Don't tell Araihead or he will be outside licking the roads!
You really only need three things for bike maintenance
If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape
If it doesn't move and it should - WD40
...and if it falls off and you want to reattach it - Cable ties.

Yup, I have heard that too. That's what all the black slimey gunk is that is left on your bike after a winter ride out. As you say, I believe ARAIHEAD licks his bike clean after a rare rideout, paying special attention to licking rims (when not sniffing secondhand seats).

My motto is "THERES NOWT LIKE A GOOD RIM LICKING"!
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

You blokes are lucky, the sum beatches here didn't plow my street before the snow fell, it's 50 degrees today and sunny and all the roads are dry except mine is still covered in ice, might try to put the T in the truck, this sucks, it's going to be 52 tomorrow and I need a ride or might do something nasty.

Try this, won't improve the main beam but then you probably won't need it with this

    Yep high beam is crap.

I find I spend most of my time holding in the passing switch which keeps both the low beam and high beam lights on.

when I get around to it I will work out how to wire it up permanently so when I flick the high beam on the low beam stays on as well.

The high beam is actually really good - its just also really badly adjusted from new - they're easy to adjust with an allen key.
Once they point in the right place its as good as any car I've driven - they have a focused beam that works well.

I was always getting flashed before too, for dazzling people coming the other way while I was on dipped... It worried me that they might swerve into me or something lol.

I have seen some philips 50% extra brightness bulbs, but they were 30 quid each!

I have a full Xenon HID kit installed on the T and the KTM. Would never night ride without it.
