what is the minimum to make a bike road legal for the US? any hints?

Pass the emissions requirements and all you pretty much need are head lights (must always be on), red brake/tail lights, amber turn signals (there are some rules on their placement, but nothing too extreme), horn, mirrors, and noise regulations (basically no open pipes).

There are ways around the emissions requirements if the bike is sold has a "custom". But it shouldn't be too hard to pass the emissions requirements, aprilia has already done much of the hardwork.

I'm sure members would give you their evap cannisters if they still have them. They'll come off later anyway. You need that to be 50 state legal iirc.

Kostas, i have to say that is a little unfair. Both designs have a similar aesthetic, yes. But to say they are exact....is a little insulting.

17 digit vin number mean the frame number kalex... du brauchst also 'ne 17-nummerige rahmennummer...

DB-killer.... ja, normalerweise musst du an die gleiche abgaswerte und lautstarke beantworten wie denselben motor vom originalhersteller, also die rsv 1000...

anti-diebstahl: den system mit wegfahrsperre wie original an die aprilia rsv soll ausreichend sein für die meisten versicherungen.

yes engine is still standard regarding power.
but stm clutch is fitted and MPL clutch cylinder. we modified as well water cooling system: we use the right hand side at the cylinder heads and have a u-flown radiator.
Motec M800 ecu with dual lambda control lets us improve the std torque drop at midrange revs.

we will see what winter time will bring regarding power: 1100ccm? dia 60 throttle bodies? shower injectors? cams?

We are starting our company KALEX engineering at the beginning of 2008 with the AV1 Fabrication, race equipment, design work, fabrication etc.

Yes the bike is no bargain, but you surely recognize some bits out of the top product range of our suppliers.
We are working parallel on a road version with components of the standard RSV, this makes it easier to get it legal otherwise cheaper.

We plan to race in ASSEN on the ducati clubraces and some of the german SoT perhaps we meet us there.
Are there races in Belgium where we can take part with our AV1?
