Sneak Preview of the Malossi 80cc Kit!

I want to make this very clear up front, I do not have have these parts in stock! I am waiting, possibly until the new year to get the full selection from Malossi but have no fear, they will be here in the future. These are all pics that I took while visiting with the nice folks from Malossi in Milan at the international motorcycle show in mid September.

Pictured below is the full MHR 80cc kit including Wild Lion pipe, internal rotor digital ignition system and 26mm carb kit. The cylinder uses a double ring 50mm piston for long life and a nicasil coated bore for superior wear resistance and reduced friction. Exhaust ports are of the triple or "schnell" port variety. There are 4 transfer windows and a large single boost port aimed at the spark plug. Compression appears to be in the 14:1 range. The transfer windows on the cylinder are designed to perfectly match the windows in the case where the case and cylinder are joined for the best possible airflow and velocity on a direct bolt up basis. So far in my extensive testing of over 10 different cylinder kits there are only two brands that have excellent case to cylinder match up, Malossi and Top Performances. Even my mighty Metrakit Pro Race motor will have to have the case ported to match the cylinder.

The 26mm carb kit should be streetable on a 80cc kit. If I have any issues while testing the 26mm kit I will change my recomendation to 21-24mm carb kit. The internal rotor ignition system is probably not designed for street use but until my parts show up in a week or two I will not know the answer to this for certain. The Malossi Wild Lion pipe is designed to work at it's best when used with the 80cc MHR kit. The pipe and the cylinder have been engineered to work in unison.

Here are the pics, a real feast for the eyes.

The sticker was just applied for the show and how the product was displayed in that case.

Sorry for keeping the pics private so long but I wanted to avoid any potential confusion that may arise from me showing product not actually available at this time.

    Thumbs up SWEEEEEET !!!!

Looks like the dombdiggitty... pretty cool!!!

I've always preferred the Malossi 68cc kit over all of the other 68-75cc kits for many reasons .... reliability, performance, it's not a iron cylinder, performance, price, and did I mention performance . Malossi really has there stuff together, so I'm sure the 80cc kit will be awesome.

Seeing some of the real MHR Racing stuff at the Milan show confirmed my beleif that Malossi is on top of their game. The quality of the parts is down right staggering, the crank in the last pic is more a peice of art than a tool to go fast, it would be a shame to smoke that one.
