Where are the other Light Weights?

Well, sometimes enough is enough! So after talking with a couple of NorCal dealers, I'm having to live with the fact that my '07 Beo500 w/ABS aka "Beo Light" is so new that the techs aren't really sure what to think of my scoot's symptoms that are so similar to the previous models... i.e., two crank starts, stalls, low rpm vibrations and poor top end passing power... Apparently, the lighter bike is based on the "Beverly 500"... and they're not sure about it's performance???. So at the suggestion of one dealer I'm seeking others who are riding this latest of Beos to compare performance... Any one else out there with the same issues? I'd appreciate a reply! Be safe!

As the Piaggio MASTER engine is largely unchanged, I would imagine that the problems affecting the newer Beo "Lightweight" are probably the same ones that affected the original Beo and the Atlantic also. However, you may find that Piaggio dealers are more familiar with this motor's current incarnation as it has been used in the X9 500 Evo and the BV500 for a while but has only recently been taken up by Aprilia.

Your 07' has ABS!? Not making fun of you but knowing how Aprilia is with their models, I didn't knew the 07' came with ABS, I got an 06 because of that feature.

You are right Julio the 07 does not come with ABS in fact it is a completly diffent bike from the 06 and is based on the Piaggio Beverly 500.

    Stalls.......

Soon after I bought my 2006 B500 I was concerned with all the talk of "stalls". While visiting a neighboring state I used a brand of gas never before used in my bike and I immediately had the stalling issues and way under power. When the tank was down half and filled it with my usual petrol and bingo, no problems since. I won't mention the brand of gas that caused the problem only to say it starts with the letter "H". In regard to "two crank" starts, yes I do it on purpose since the total cranking time is much less. I initially hit the starter for about 2 seconds, pause, and then hit it again and in one second it starts. Vibration: I attribute that feeling to the fact we are riding a thumper (one cylinder).

Im with you on the two starts, I feel uncomfortable leaving the starter for more than a couple of seconds. On both S500 I have had they have been two time starters but have never experienced a stall.
