Anyone use one of these on a Tuono tank?
Our AFI host carries these but is not sure how the fit will be on a Tuono tank?
Thanks!
Mike

The fastex buckles on the top have my interest & how the cover has side attachments. I might be able to use an existing Ortlieb tank bag with just a few modifications.
I have modified my existing Ortlieb to fit perfectly on the pillion seat, attaching to the frame rails underneath, hence without touching the body work. Very factory looking & stable. And its easy to stack another Ortlieb right on top of it. I even modified a nice backpack to fastex right to the top also. Very trick & holds a full size helmut in a pinch.
I want to get another Ortlieb on the tank without covering too much of the tank up, just protecting where it mates. I have had some modifications sewn to my Ortlieb MAGNETICpad so that I can actually use it but I'm not happy with the stability or lack thereof. I need something attaching to the sides like this the tank cover above has but not just a strap going off the side of the tank. Thats why I'm looking at this tank cover. It would appear that this style tank cover would give me the tank bag stability I'm looking for.
I'm trying to stay w/ the Ortlieb because it is perfect for me, simple, 100% waterproof & unbreakable with no zips etc to muck up...
Just don't know if it fits well. Guess I'll have to order & find out...

Ed @ AF1 was kind enough to send me a tank cover & bag to see how they would fit and if I didn't like how they fit, that I could send it back. Awesome!!!
Well.....after receiving the tank cover & the accompanying tank bag, I decided it was way too cool not to have!
Unfortunately, from the photos of the Gen2 Tuono in the instructions, it was obvious it was not specifically designed for the Gen 1 T. Interstingly, the tank cover itself has an excellent matching shape to the Gen 1 tank even though the Gen 2 tank is significantly different. The problem lies with where the buckles rest, which 1) prevent the seat from being attached 2) take up steering lock space.
It is definately quality kit however, so I could either relocate the buckles or modify the seat base pan. I wanted to retain the quick release function of the cover itself, so I modified the seat pan, w/o much trouble I might add. The front buckles, I can live with until they break from turning the steering lock full either way while turning. Then it would be a very easy modification to bar tack another length of strap to the cover extending another different style buckle such as a fastex where it would be completely out of the way. This would enable complete standard steering lock.
My only nitpick is that it is not HO proof, but not many stylish bags are. However it does come with a nice & ugly GREY water cover.Oh well nothing's perfect. But this does come very close & certainly complements the style of our beautiful Gen 1 bikes. Unlike the UGLY BUG EYEd Gen 2's! Also, the bag does not occlude any view of the dash etc...and will not inhibit any steering at speed.
Thanks AF1!
