I am hitting a flat spot in the rev range about 7000 rpm. It is like the cdi restriction but a lot worse. This is only happening when I shift gears and the revs drop back, when I am accelerating from below 7k, there is no problem. By the way, the CDI is de-restricted so there is no way that is causing it. Also, when I'm in a higher gear, say 4th and higher, the bike tends to baulk at about 9000 rpm, it doesn't even come close to the redline at 11000. This is not an issue in lower gears or at lower speeds but when you're really trying to move it happens.
Any advice is good. If I can not get it sorted out, then it is going to go, and I really don't want to have to get rid of it.
