PLEASE HELP!

I just picked up my arrow ti and eprom that's made for this pipe. I'm derestricting the air box too but I have no idea where the eprom is located (no directions in the box). please help. thanx guys........jared

ps. also installing the signal eliminator w/ plate tonight......gonna be a long night.:rollin: .

it is inside the ECU......two main wire harness clips, and then 4 small screws to get inside

the computer is located under the seat. unplug the two connectors, pull the computer out and set it on your workbench. remove the four philips head screws and lift the top off (you may need to cut the seal). very carefully remove the glue on top of the eprom (just peals away). next, using a small screwdriver or popscile stick, genty pry the factory eprom up, working from each side. note: make sure and remove both the eprom and daughterboard (small circuit board under the eprom) if there is one. also note the postion of the eprom (it should have a small mark or line on one end). the new eprom also has one of these marks so install it in the same direction. replace the top back on the computer, install the four screws and plug it back in - you are done.

Place the EPROM on the socket paying attention to orientation as Ken describes. Next put your thumbs on either end of the EPROM and apply light pressure in a circular motion. This engages the pins in their respective sockets. Without releasing the light pressure apply more significant direct pressure to seat the EPROM.

Suggest running a bead of silicone rubber from the circuit board up and down the length of the EPROM and back to the circuit board for additional security against the EPROM backing out.

Lou's advice is spot-on (as usual)... the bead of silicone around the EPROM is good insurance for keeping the little bugger in place.

Personal experience with this one.....
