What's the riding like in the area?

We thought of doing a tour down there (from up here in Germany), via Alps, Austria / Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, to Timisoara (a friend has some contacts and an office in your city).

What's the riding like in the area?

We thought of doing a tour down there (from up here in Germany), via Alps, Austria / Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, to Timisoara (a friend has some contacts and an office in your city).

Fell free to experience Romania. As Timisoara is not that far away form the border with Hungary you will not have to suffer to much form the lousy romanian roads . Overall it's OK , there are some nice landscapes here inRO that can be enjoyed when cruising. If you want to come to TSR please do not hesitate to contact me or my friends from this link:

If you want to come in TSR I am sure you'llnot regret it, as the town is not so far from the border the reoads are good but a bit crowded.
If you caome in town give me a sign, we can go for a spin or check the site from my friends that I hang out with :

I'll be in Morocco and South of France first in mid-spring 2011, and may plan the South-East European riding adventure later in the year!

I can confirm roads are OK ( if you like high speed) long & straight around Timisoara. I think better is in mountains( around Piatra Neam and around Deva-Hunedoara ).

I've sold the Falco a few years ago and I don't have much spare time to update the map.

So it looks like (from the updated post from the original OP) the map is not being updated anymore, but just to say hi, I just purchased my 2001 Falco. It's pristine and I can't wait to start riding it. It will keep my Ducati ST4s company. What can I say, I love gorgeous Italian v-twins. I'm in Phoenix AZ - 85308.
