In no way way am i trying to create any discension in the ranks here between us owners but has any one of the 450 owners(with a properly filled bike) lost this seal? Just curious and I dont want to pre-emptively change mine if theres no need.
Thx

1k miles No Problems....
Ive got a 450 rxv Changed the first oil and filters at 100 km. Nothing wrong with first tank of oil from factory-no white. And at 260 kms i saw milky white at the oil cap and top of site tube. Changed the oil and the stuff that came out looked ok not milky - kinda dark though. Went for a long ride next day (today) for about about 150kms and white stuff at the cap came back worse not in site tube though. Im Not loosing any liqued in the rad. so I'm not sure... but the seals might be going.
The first oil was semi synth motul w/esther. the second was v300 motul fully synth double esther.
Never saw any white stuff at either plug or filter cavity. Maybe the oil tank is causing some kinda frothing in it from the return or site tube or something- or maybe the seals are going slowly
Im going to call the dealer bike is only a month old.
Any one have any ideas? Any help is appreciated
TIA

Every oil change on mine the engine oil comes out as clean as it goes in, ever any white stuff on the cap.
The gear oil is dirty but thats because i have a slipper and the clutch friction material has to go somewhere.
I have a the same problem, post up if you figure it out. thanks!Originally Posted by M0J0
It may be condensation in the oil tank. If its only milky around the oil cap but the oil itself comes out like regular dirty oil, I would not worry too much about it.Originally Posted by M0J0
If you start spewing water into the oil, you will know it cause all the oil coming out will look like a milkshake.
When you say "milky around the oil cap", I assume you're talking about the cap at the oil tank? Or at the fill cap for the gear box?
Mine gets slightly milky at the oil fill cap.
Don`t forget, that the oil fill cap, is right across from the breather tube.![]()

Its been real humid here and I did a lot of starting and stoping the other day which = heating and cooling. Thus I think the moist air gets hot then cools then condenses and realease water in the top of the oil tank wher it cools first and has an air gap. It gets mixed up by the breather tube and bubling air from the sump breather at the bottom and just general vibration which causes the oil in the top of the tank to get milky. I didnt see this when it wasnt that humid out so this is why Im starting to think this. I know humid air can hold a lot of water. Im going to change out the oil today and also going to try a different oil maybe the shell rotella stuff. Il let you know how it looks. Also since the breather is at the top of the tank its the white oil that will drain to the air box and mess up the air box and out the air box tube.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Ryan whats the humidity like there?
Orange whats the humidity like where you ride? Did you ride in any humidity before the catch cans?
