help! just picked my bike up from the shop

I just picked my bike up bike up from the shop and now it won't stay running. I took it in early March for a tune up and swing arm update as well as a pc3 and custom map. I broke my back about two months ago so I had a friend come with me to get it. The shop took right up till closing to give me the bike, charged me $1464 for the work. They were not able to get my fly wheel off to take the weight off so they skippef it, but still charged my labor! My friend takes off frombygr shop and I follow. Web get down then road and he stalls. No big deal. He starts it back up and off we go. 20 miles later he stalled 30 times! He limps the bike to the house and now we can't get it running for more than a few seconds! The bike shop said it ran fine when we left so they don't thinkbits their fault. Thry offered toncome and get it and look at it again but not for free. Should they fix it for free? After three months and $1500 don't they owe me a working bike?

    Hi Beemreatr,

that sounds like your Powercommander has no connection.
Check the cables to both injection valves and to the battery.
That was my problem a week ago...

    Good luck!

Tell us when you find the problem!

Where you live? They cannot charge you for work not performed. N/C for the swing arm, what did they charge you for the pc and install with dyno? How much was the tune and did they do valves and gaskets? I have heard of a warranty of 12 feet or 12seconds whichever comes first but I think someone was just bs'n me. Yea it should still run even after you pull into yer driveway.
Check (if in cali) with the BBB not to submit a claim but to see what your rights in this type of matter. Wish i could be of more help, me, I would be down there with pistols blazzin j/k

P.S. Allso what kind of got me off kildar was the remark the service writter said to you about he felt that it wasn't there fault. Wtf, does he think that the wrench is perfect? At my shop we wouldn't say anything but "get it back here and lets see whats happened". I've got a weird feeling that what ever the problem it is going to be yours which to me doesn't set right.

Oh, and never visit that shop again--ever! At the very least, any reputable shop would have waited until they found something YOU broke before they begged you off...

Where are you and what is the shop's name?

I am in Va beach. The shop is Redline in Yorktown Va. I never hooked up a power commander so I really don't know what I'm looking at. Would the connections be easy to see? Why would that cause problems. I would imagine without the PC it would run stock settings.ill take a look today after work and let you guys know what I find. The dealership can't pick the bike up for a few days.

that really sucks. this is a very american answer...talk to a lawyer. if you have any lawyer friends, ask them to make a call to the shop on your behalf....

or maybe we can ask Tony Soprano to pay them a "visit". Oh wait, he's dead. Or is he....

Lift the tank and check that TPS sensor wire that the Powercommander hooks into the harness with. I bet they used that stupid scotch-lock connector and its not working properly. Who even knows if they calibrated the thing too? If you have a PC connect to it to see what happening.

If that connector looks like a little plastic pinch clip that that's what they used. I just unplugged the TPS and the bike runs the same. What type of connector should I use? I think this may be the problem

Well I just out a new Conn on and it did the same thing so I just connected the wires directly together and it ran fine for a few, just long enough for me to get my helmet on and yet and ride it. Its doing the same choking thing and cutting out.

could be a bad Powercommander then, unhook it and see how it runs. They are known to go bad. Also check your battery cable terminals and that the commander is grounded properly. Youll have to plug the injector connectors back into the harness to see how it runs without the PC in the loop.

    Dude,
I am in Chesapeake and I have dealt with Redline MANY times - they have always treated me great. Did you talk directly with Dave? If not, that's what you need to do. If you did, I don't know what to say. Ducati is their main thing, but I bought a new '04 RSVR from them and have had great service. They replaced the swingarm, and a broken turn signal switch, at no cost to me - all under warranty. Again, talk directly with Dave. Post up here what you find out.

    running bad

PCIII make sure the connector off the PCIII that has the orange wires goes to the injector on the RH side!! also The wire on the TPS shouldbe the middle wire, 06-07 wire is Brown. make sure the connectors are all snapped together. if all is good than maybe a bad MAP or you have a Vaccum leak some where. Without being there thats i can tell you.
