    Gear Selection Problems

Hi took my bike out today and all was going well to begin with then my gear changes were getting a little clunkie and when i came to the traffic lights i couldnt select netural without turning the engine off. i have ajust the cable and ajust the clutch itself and i have now made it worse. one other point my clutch lever is nearly fully released before it engages. any ideas anyone, does the clutch or cable need replacing????. thanks

could be the adjusting screw on the engine end, aswell as the ball bearing on the plate, mine was fooked! same symptoms as yours, i even ordered a new cable and that didnt work!

I can't quite see why this should be the cable. If the lever is nearly fully released before the clutch engages and you've still got enough drag to affect the gears, then a look at the clutch itself may be needed. Try fresh transmission oil first.
