    Aprilia powered Chopper/Bobber????

I am after some feedback. I was thinking about stripping my race bike to build myself a old skool bobber/chopper like these............
I figure it would be better to use my RSVR motor rather than any harley motor as the Aprilia motor has a hell of alot more horse power.
What do you guys reckon anyway? give me your thoughts.....
    Cheers.

Is that the radiator ahead of the rear wheel on the KTM-powered jobbie?

I've been trying to pull this off for years now, I just can't seem to save $$ or enough of it, long enough (sxv) to pull it off. I wanna do something a little more upright (position wise) flat black and with some ohlin's front and rear.

Well when you think about it, it makes alot of sense.
The Rotax is strong and very reliable, the only thing that might be an issue is cooling, the ECU setup and maybe the lack of torque compared to the usual modified Harley versions.
The bobber would be better balanced as there is no primary drive or rear wheel offset. Simply mount the engine in a rigid frame, chuck some forks on it, then wire it in, I hope.
check out my brembos in the frame......

Oh hell yes! Go for it. I had an 04 motor I was going to do that with. No time for the forseable future so I sold it. I wish I hadn't. Paint the motor all black.

I think its a great idea!

It would be a fresh perspective on the chopper world.

The newest issue of Motorcyclist says that Buell is going to work with Rotax on a single for a dirt bike to sell in the Harley dealerships.

Then the article goes on to suggest that Buell use the V60 Rotax motor! I hope they dont, but anyway, its half way to what your talking about doing in a weird sorta way...

Do it! What frame are you using? I have been wanting to do this sort of thing for awhile, got the tools, just no time. That Aprilia looks good, but man, what a reach to the bars though.

I want to do it if for no other reason to piss off the "purists". Kind of the same reasoning behind the 1926 Ford Model-T I just cut the crap out of for a street rod. It was a beautifully restored original driving Model-T. We posted a bunch of photos on a Model-T site and actually got a couple of death threats if we broke apart the car and cut the body. We did it and had a blast. Car came out bitchin too.

Why dont ya post some pics of your Model T dude......I love seeing chopped rods with 4 or 2 wheels.

As for the frame, I will be using a 200 rear rigid with standard stretch and rake. That way it will handle as well as great engine fitment and that old look I am after.

    Keep G'ing me up!
