Anyone been using these tires yet?
I've put a set on this weekend per recommendation of a friend (I had a new set of 2CT's to go on but I traded those at the shop). I've yet to try them because the weather here ain't exactly inviting...

Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. Those have been really hard to find in the UK so far. I heard a rumour Bridgestone were a bit disapointed with their performance so they held them back. Not sure what truth is in that.

-Akrapovic Cans, Ohlins rear shock, PC111 (Custom Map), Evotek Tail Tidy
I put the softer version up front, the rear is a 180.
Monkey, was that for use on the road or track?
Used these for road and track days - excellent but 'slippery when wet'.
I have seen these for sale at Donington Park track days last year for £135 per pair fitted

I heard it from the guy i buy my tyres off. He didn't specify. They did get good right ups in the mags over a year ago when they came out.Originally Posted by Pimmie

That profile looks very un-round-
How do they feel?
I'll wager it'll carve corners like those new-fangled 'coke bottle' skis that even make ME look good.

The profile looks very similar to the Michelin PP 2CT, should be a lot of fun in the dry.Originally Posted by QuickHX

I would guess they would be like slicks in the rain. Very little tread pattern, where would the water go? I see disaster on wet roads.![]()
The shape looks very much like the pilot powers I've already used so I guess in that respect they won't feel much different (I haven't ridden with the BT's yet).Originally Posted by QuickHX
As far as riding in the rain, I think at the moment there's no better sports tire than the pilot powers for use in the rain, so much grip....
I used to ride with the BT012ss untill they stopped making it, this is just a try out to see how the next generation BT's are, if they stink I'll go back to Michelin...
Well, this weekend I used the 002's in anger during the Aprilia Experience at Spa-Francorchamps...
What a tire...![]()
Grip from cold, silly lean angles, predictable slide, awesome at speed (Blanchimont, full lean at 220km/h), I never had a scary moment on them...
I ran these to the edges and they kept being predictable, a friend of mine crashed hard (cracked collarbone and shoulderblade) because his rear 2CT folded up on him when he ran it on the edge, very strange. I think the Pilot Power in 190 size wouldn't do that but the 002 in 180 size is definitely a great tire.
I used it one lap in the wet but pussyfooted around because I still wanted to go home in one piece...![]()
And the rear...
Certainly looks like you tested those to "the edge" Pimmie.![]()
