Culling through the archives of pictures from my early April trip to Switzerland on the Goose, I came across these taken at the Julierpass. The guy on the bike in the first photo was going like hell!

Nice pix.
Some day I'll return to Guzzi...
YUP,'ditto that.
Nice looking bike and great pics.![]()
I notice in this months AMCN mag in OZ (Vol 56 No.21), theres a very favourable roadtest on the 1200 Sport, on page 52. The rear shock spring being about the only thing they could find fault with, when pushing hard...but,what std m/c doesnt have one or two things in this area to modify...
Btw,Also on page eight, JSG (OZ importer) hinted that theres a rash of new MG models, waiting in the wings..."Guzzi will build bigger engines in the future-they're not stopping at 1200"...and MG sales are tipped to overtake Aprilia...!!
Do you know if there's an online (or scanned pdf) version of that test?Originally Posted by JohnG.
I can't make up my mind about that bike. In a way it's cool and could make a nice touring bike but on the other hand, it looks a bit oo much like the Breva. Perhaps I should take one for a spin to see what is really like.
watch out for the blue meanies!

Thanks for the links and yes, I had already seen the motocycledaily story. The problem with that and a number of other ones like it is that they are merely introductory stories, with no real test rides included.
So far I've seen only one test ride, which was also in print. But no doubt there will be more stories about the bike eventually. Even though it is not a bike that attracts the masses.
watch out for the blue meanies!
Hmm... funny how I've seem to have missed those when googling. Thanks for the links.Originally Posted by JohnG.

I thought that the suspension was too soft, but just figured it was adjusted too soft. I didn't adjust it, just went riding.
If you take the Sport for what it's meant to be, which IMO is the motorcycle equivalent of a street car with a big V-8 and good street (not race) suspension, it doesn't have much competition in the market. And if that's the feel you're looking for, it would be very satisfying.
Yamaha MT-01, Griso, maybe the V-Max and Harley Street Rod are the only bikes that are like it philosophically; lazy, rediculously torquey twins in a good street chassis. And while the Max has a brilliant motor, it has yesterday's chassis and suspension. The Harley's cool, but very heavy and as long as a 1960's Cadillac.
In that group of bikes I'd take the 1200 Sport hands down.
