    teething probs

    hey all

picked up my new bike this arfo and was pleasantly surprised......

as you know my old rs was a 1994,this was quick with a top speed of 102mph,however it was smooth through every gear,no warp at all!

well the new one i have just bought is lightning through the gears with a superb warp but runs like a dog in low revs.also when i change gear the revs drop straight after then suddenlt take off again?..i was riding in the town and had to keep it in 2nd or 3rd to avoid it stalling.......

its like having my old tzr back, lol

another few things i would like your take on?

also whhen i first start the bike it takes a fair while to get it running for take off,i.e not cutting out.on my 1994 it would be raring to got as soon as the key was in,never once did i use the choke....

when i changed down gears with the clutch engaged the engine revs rise on there own without throttle being used, also the bike creeps forward when at say a junction with clutch in?

is this a simple clutch adjustment needed?

one bonus was when i paid for the bike the fellow gave me £20 back for fuel and oil....hehe nice

btw all if you know where i can get fairly cheap plastics?fairing wheres the best place to go?

    thanks all

    bike looks good mate..

if u are traveling at speed and ur change down a gear, then the revs will rasie, hence the engine noise...

i know m8 but the revs raise when ive got the clutch in and slowing down, each gear i changed down the revs get higher........normally every other bike i have ridden as soon as you pull the clutch in the revs drop to idle speed

as soon as the gear is dropped it gives a grrrhh and then idles

its hard to explain but hey you got me to say gfffhh

you mention that the bike creeps forward when at junctions?
the clutch is not completly disengaging then? I bet this is more noticable when you rev it ?

This would also cause the revs to rise as you are going along with the clutch in and changing down gears as again the clutch is not coompletly disengaging,

nah, I only know cos when freddie did hes I was there to watch everything he did to it. After words their was no glitch in the rev's anywhere as before their were some at 7rpm i think.

Well good to know he's getting a PV fitted , it'll make that bike run like a dream

i know m8 takes about 5mins.. got to do air filter meself as they didnt do it on 4,000km service!. just getting used to cleaning bits of the bike meself rather than paying 30 pound an hour for stuff you can do yourself.
