    50 cc pistons/cylinders.

Looks like I may have to replace the piston and rings certainly and possibly the cylinder on a 2001 `Ditech. (well i probably had to last year but I couldn't be bothered given it was going to be so cold in the winter)

Does anyone have any recommendations as to improvements over the standard 50 cc parts, and/or suppliers in Europe.

Also any views welcomed on the final drive gear most suitable for a 70cc kit (if I go that way) witha view to cruising and not max acceleration.

before anyone berates me for not doing a forum search, can i respectfully point out that when ever I tried searching for this it provoked a "server error" message, and I've been back 31 pages manually, which takes an age when you are restricted to 56k connection speed.

check around scooter-attack.com or sip-scootershop.com and you'll find what you're looking for. There is an Olympia 50cc piston/cylinder which could be an improvement, but I've never read an actual review of it, so I'm not sure how it works out. One guy said someone else was using it, but it ran too lean, so I don't know......

As for gearing, there are a few gear changes you can make, so it'll just be a matter of how much acceleration you want to trade off for top speed. There's a chart in this thread which should give you some ideas about how to change your gearing to your tastes.

And sometimes the server craps out and doesn't do the search engine thing at all. It happens.... so don't worry........
