    Laverda Jota

Spotted this Laverda Jota with a Defazio front end conversion. Different isn't it!

Very weird that Difazio frontend. BMW stole it for their telelever design.

Jimboni, that is a beautiful 750SF! I have one that looks like it, but for the drum brake and the headlight.

John-in-Sweden - I don't know why the engine pieces are black. It is no.1697 so it is too early to be a 30th Anniversary. I have it apart now because a previous owner replaced the triplex chain with two inferior simplex chains that left a bunch of broken chain rollers in the engine. It has the 4c cams and shows 160psi compression, so I am assuming it has domed pistons. My 3C shows 145psi and it is 9/1 cr. It feels very quick- much faster than my stock 3C.

SF2diehard: chin up pal, things will look up and you will eventually get your next Laverda.

    Hi George!
yes broken chain rollers is really bad inside a engine,
inside your pistons is there any text ? is it "mondial" is it strd piston,, it might be pistons from a 750,, we are using 750 piston to bring up the comp.
in Europe we are also using "pistoni asso" pistons in our Laverda´s,, they are working great.
same comp as jota strd feels good in a 1200 *smile*.
if you need new pistons i heard a roumor about pistons made in Hungary !! yes maybe it sounds strange but a friend of me orderd a few weeks ago.waiting 4 resault.

    best regards / John

You know it. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate the support. And take a gander at the CB750 thread in the "general motorcycle talk" section for my opinion about Breganze Twins.

No they are not. The bike was painted many years ago with John Deere green and John Deere yellow wheels. It has since been repainted stock Mirage silver and i am thinking of keeping the yellow and using yellow elsewhere on the bike. The stock fairing is off and i am installing a 1980 Jota fairing.

John Deere green and yellow?!? A Laverda? No No No.
Do that to '70s Boxers not Laverda's.
I happened to see (and talk to the rider of) a John Deere green and yellow Boxer in Victorville a couple years ago. It suited the BMW. Not a Mirage!!

    OK John. I gotta ask: is your 1200 a 180 or a 120?
