New member.......card's at the virtual bar.

Good morning or good evening to you wherever you are,
I am now the proud (I think) owner of an '03 RST with 6k miles on the odo. It was slightly scruffy when I bought it a few weeks ago, so the blue has gone and been replaced with new black paint. I have just put it back together and love the look. I am not a newcomer to the engine as I have owned a Mille and a Falco previously. I keep getting drawn to buying Ducatis, but end up returning to Aprilia as it's such a good all round package in comparison.
Enough of the drivel, What'll you have ? Card's at the bar.

Ignorant - they have been cheated; asleep - they have been surprised; divided - the yoke has been forced upon them. But what is the lesson? ...the people ought to be enlightened, to be awakened, to be united, that after establishing a govenment they should watch over it.... It is universally admitted that a well-instructed people alone can be permanently free."

    Greetings from Belgium!

I am not a newcomer to the engine as I have owned a Mille and a Falco previously.
Had a Falco, currently own a Futura and '04 Tuono.

I must say the 1098 looks sweet and sounds like a stonking bike. Too expensive for me but I'm glad Ducati picked up where they left off after the 998. Ultimate shame (for Terblanche) is that they called it 1098 while it has 1099 cc! IMHO anyway.

Go on then...I'll have an ouzo.

Ducati may have been thinking about marketing in the U.S. when they called it 1098, because around here a "1099" is a tax form. That would be death by association.

    Welcome Nige

It's good to see that there is another newbie on this site from England just like me. I bought my Fut 3 months ago after selling my blade and i haven't looked back.

I am normally in worthing every couple of months visiting family so we could get a bit of a ride organised once the weather gets better. A trip to Boxhill on a Sunday could be in order to fly the Futura flag.

    See you soon

I live in Peterborough but my brother lives in Havant and my gran lives in Worthing so I tend to be down every 6-8 weeks.

I have only had the Fut for a couple of months so I am looking forward to taking it down the coast and see how it fairs compared to the TDM900 that i had before hand.

My bro has a 600 bandit and a friend i visit in Fareham has a Firestorm so next time we can get a bit of a group going.

Ryan, Nigel - check out Club Aprilia (http://www.clubaprilia.net/forums) for more Futura jocks based in the UK. Many of the guys are RSV and Tuono owners and are based around you in the south east.

Welcome aboard both and hope to see you at Matlock or any number of other UK Futura/Aprilia gatherings next year.

    Oh yes by all means!

Hey that's interesting info! May well have been the case since the US is a market they're very keen on.

I spent a year working in Peterborough. Great area. I lived out toward Oundle and worked not too far off the A1-M.

    Cheers Mate.
