5 geared RS50 wots the difference between 6 gears????

ive got 2 RS50's both have 5 gears but most mi m8s have 6 gears wots the gear ratio difference?? sum1 help me

i guess that you have the older type with the am5, and ur mate with a am6 (if it isnt the brand new model)
i spose havning an extra gear would give slightly better acceloration and mab a bit more top speed.
is ur mate much faster than u?

well i got a 2002 RS50 GP model and a 2003 RS50 both wiv 5 gears but mi GP model can beat mi m8s 6 gears even tho they both stock soo i dno wots goin on an how its wrks write bk sum1 and explain

2002/3 should have 6 gears,
i think it is only the pre 97/98? bikes that use the am5

99 onwards have 6 gears. You should have 6 on both of yours if you have two 2000+ models.

Try looking at your gearbox, maybe its a little screwed. Either that or push with your foot harder.

my 98 rossi rep had 6 gears so the 98 had an am6 aswell

Check your gears again mate. You definitely have 6.

You're not going straight up are you like Adam said?

no i aint goin straight up into 2nd ive tried in 5th shiftin higher but it jt revs no 6th gear change how weird is tht tho

the GP 1 had a engine rebuild at 8000km that was the piston they had to chage the guy i brought it off sed an the 2003 has just had the piston change cos the twat i brought if off used it for racing without tellin me wen i brought it so the piston went and it was all racing spec stuff so ive had it all put bk to normal by a official aprilia dealer i rly dnp wot to make of this 5 gears thing its got me stumpd an i fink its got u lot stumped aswell

your engine will have AM6 stamped on it, i believe its just under the sprocket shaft, take a look
