Carbon Rear Seat Cowl/Cover, new design, take a look

Would you be interested in the new design custom made rear seat cowl as shown in the following photos?

    There are 3 options:
    1) Full carbon with areas of paint and areas of clear coating like the one shown in the pictures. As you can see due to its design this blended version is in my opinion very atractive as it can be integated with the bike's colour
    2) Full carbon clear coated
    3) Polyester version unpainted or painted in the bike's colour

    Two questions:

    1) Do you like it?
    2) What kind of pricing would you believe it would be commercially effective?

Also nearly all pieces of Mille or Tuono can be made on order from carbon or polyester

For any questions pls send PM or ask

Very Benelli Tornado... and I love those bikes! I'd definately be interested, as much as I love carbon fibre though I'd have to go with boring old plastic / fibre glass... that is unless I had all the fairings done in carbon fibre

What sort of price do these go for?

    Thank you for your interest.
We have not figured out the final prices but this is our first thoughts:

    1) Carbon blended (clear carbon + bike's colour) 210 Euro or 250 USD
    2) Carbon clear coated 190 Euro or 230 USD
    3) Polyester painted 90 Euro or 120 USD
    4) Polyester unpainted 70 Euro or 90 USD

Again, this is our first estimation for the selling prices and with the current exchange rate of Euro/USD.

These do not include the shipping costs which I have to figure out tommorow.

They are very nice, but at 190 euro ( £135 )for item number 2, that would be very expensive , unless of course it includes the under-part that attaches it to the bike.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Yes, I forgot to say that the cowl is a direct replacement for the seat. It inludes the necessary hardware underneath to just unplug the seat an plug the cowl and vice versa. You don't need the base plate as with the other covers.

So in that respect I don't think it's expensive.

I like the first option. Looks very sleek and clean. I cant say what I would pay for it because there is nothing like it on the market. But very nice job!!!!

I like it as an alterative to a standard cowl but I would like to see some full side shots first.

I like very much. A bit expensive though when you consider delivery is not included in the price.

I too would like to see a profile view/picture to see how it changes the look of the bike (for the better I'm sure).

Good effort though and it's nice to see someone come up with an imaginative design for a part rather than just a direct copy (though there is a market for them as well).

By way of an example for a cost comparison, QB Carbon do a rear seat cowl in Carbon for £93.98 (£79.99 + 17.5% VAT). I realise that this is more of a standard design.

    Hi all,

sorry for keeping you wait for some answers during the whole day but that stupid proxy server at work won't allow me to post replies, just seeing your messages.

So from home now I can summarise as follows:

    From UK:
    1) Araihead, general interest
    2) Mr Bear, confirmed order for silver polyester, 65 pounds, seperate delivery or bulk UK order? pls confirm
    3) Burty, interested in a silver polyester, bulk UK order
    4) Khewett interested in a silver polyester, bulk UK order
    5) Scanner interested in magnet grey (poly or 2 tone carbon?), bulk UK order

    From US:
    1) Tuck'd, interested in 2 tone (painted or not, what colour if painted?) or poly unpainted, pls confirm
    2) Tuono_John, general interest
    3) Kid Thunder, interested in polyester red '03
    4) PBoroMille general interest

    From Malaisia:
    1) Frutsfly, polyester pls confirm colour

Let me know if the above is correct.

Regarding packaging and postage expenses for one each item:
-For Europe: from 8 to 12 Euro (or 5 to 8 UK Pounds) depending on type of cowl and postage method
-For rest of the World: from 9 to 13 USD depending on type of cowl and postage method

For bulk orders I have to know how many pieces, what types and the postage method preffered to ask for a specific cost.

Pictures will be send ASAP. There is a new idea for the 2 tone carbon version which is to show the aprilia logo in front of the cowl (as in the fotos) in clear coated carbon (i.e. not to paint it) like the line on the top and the recesses at the sides. I hope to look even better and if so I'll send pics of this version also.

I hope that I have replied to most of your questions but if there are any other unspecified issues pls ask.

I repeat that there are four versions:

    2) Carbon clear coated 190 Euro or 230 USD or 130 UK Pounds
    3) Polyester painted in bike's colour 90 Euro or 120 USD or 65 UK Pounds
    4) Polyester unpainted 70 Euro or 90 USD or 50 UK Pounds

Regarding packaging and postage expenses for one each:

-For Europe: from 8 to 12 Euro (or 5 to 8 UK Pounds) depending on type of cowl (carbon is lighter, poly is heavier) and postage method (simple post, tracked post, tracked and insured post)

-For rest of the World (including US): from 9 to 13 USD depending on type of cowl (carbon is lighter, poly is heavier) and postage method (simple post, tracked post, tracked and insured post)

When you decide to place a confirmed order pls let me know which type and colour of cowl you want as well as which postage method you prefer.

    Thanks

    Manolis
