the manual says " pour about 1000cc ( for version 11kW, 600 cc )
i've just changed mine and I put 1000cc in it and its just above the peephole.
eh?
Engine casing on all bikes says 600cc for the gear box oil.... doesnt matter Full power or not as both will revv high through the gears, using too much oil CAN damage your bike causing a form of clutch drag along with it...
Use 600cc'c of Silkolene Light Gear Box Oil... or any other light g-b oil...

i forgot to mention, i aint ridden it since me change yet, so no damage done!!!!!, i'll drain it out this weekend cos i godda adjust the clutch at the same time !
there is a little clear window in the gaerbox side.
you get a mate to hold the bike level; then pour the oil in and keep and eye on the windows. [ might have to use a little mag light ]
ther eare two little horizontal lines on the windows, the oil should be no lower than the bottom and no higher than the top one.

BTW - peephole as in looking glass or the bolt thats in the middle (dead centre) of the clutch cover... as thats a hole to adjust your clutch without having to remove all the casing...

naa, i was just mentioning that i'll do both jobs at the same time,
when i said peephole i meant the glass window.
its probably a good thing to drain it back down again just to flush that last bit of crap out, sheesh it was like treacle pouring out, i dunno when it was last done as i've only had the beast for 2 weeks.
so 600cc?
i have just bought some putaline 75w so that should do the job........
it looks like your bike is older as mine is,
i put 1 liter in and on the level its bang in the middle of the glass eye.
so the 600cc's may well be for 98 onwards machines and not my 97 model which takes 1000 cc quite happily!!
also checked my clutch out and its nicelly setup now~!!!
